Hit the ball closer to your head for topspins. Don't come underneath the ball the follow through will look like that regardless. She is also taking advantage of her height when she uses the serve to make the spins look similar.

The tomahawk always comes down ( as in forward) - it is whether you come over or come under the ball and that can be very hard to see. The real problem is that the serve is really heavy and people still underestimate the sidespin even when they see it.

Dima has a history of stuff like this though, despite his facial expressions sometimes, he is clearly one of the toughest players in big matches.

Yeah - the funny thing is that some people think he has a good backhand because he sometimes hits powerful shots. But it is huge weakness at that level. And the output generally isn't worth the recovery loss.
