The desync you see is probably the biggest evidence of the knee pain, it is hard to get into the kind of depth with the knees that I would like to to hit the shot I want to hit, but I know what I get is better than getting nothing whatsoever, because there is a change in ability to hit some...

My arm actually feels quite fine these days compared to prior times - it has been doing this for too long so it is happy that there is actually a little lower body work to support it where there used to be none whatsoever ;).

So I have been trying to improve my footwork - this is the max I can go at and I don't think I will be doing this particular drill at this intensity again - my right knee can't take it for sure. I get faster as the drill goes on. Comments are welcome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSbJ0PkgSrs
  4. Dignics 09c vs hurricane 3

A higher level player told me that it really isn't about softness but about sponge compression - the boosters put bubbles in the sponge so it is easier to compress and generate spin. But the compressibility argument also applies to softer sponges as well.
  5. Dignics 09c vs hurricane 3

The review has a lot of issues - the benefit of H3 when it comes to spin isn't on spinning up the ball, it is on the fact that you can play with a low of power and still have no limit on the spin potential. This creates a major mental problem when you are used to facing Euro rubbers as the...
  6. What is my USA ranking now?

Since MOG is the king of arguing that he never serves illegally and that his opponents are breaking all the rules, this is perplexing and vexing and needs immediate attention and resolution.
  7. Which match would you love to see?

Haha.... I probably wouldn't stand a chance. The match I want to see is ZJK vs Yan An at one or those opens a few years ago. I think Yan An came back from 4-10 in the 7th to win. Wasn't on a TV table.
  8. MOG's D09c Thread: Now Closed

To be honest, as someone who has purchased quite a few sheets of Dignics 09c, I initially thought the title was in poor taste. But I got over it since I knew the context was mostly supposed to be humorous and the OP has been trolling like this for years. And I also know that rubbers like this...
  9. MOG's D09c Thread: Now Closed

Spin sensitive is always a relative term. I suspect in reality, though I haven't used Rakza Z, that D09c and Rakza Z will be about the same.
  10. New Butterfly Rubber Aibis

Exactly - they know you cannot tell the difference and you think you are getting a great deal for cheap Hurricane rubber at $40.

Then do they loop or push back?
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Do you get the balls after loops or pushes? If after pushes, you can get someone to push to you with pips or anti and keep the ball low and see how to loop that. Your return should probably aim to keep the ball extremely low as well as much as you need arc.
  13. review and comparison; bluesponge hurricane 3 vs dignics 09c vs 37 degree hurricane 3

I just tried D09c and really liked it coming from Tenergy 05 Hard. I can't speak for players with cost considerations or inferior technique (or superior technique either). I assume it is a rubber most people can play with though it is slower than Tenergy because it has some tack.
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes, but the mindset is the same. The ball is low so you have to spin the ball on the table. If you can get low no spin or light backspin feeds, that works as well. You don't have as much weight to work with so you need to add spin and get the ball to dip - trying to hit the ball hard is 90%...

Third ball loop vs low heavy backspin? I find that the higher the level of the player, the lower they usually keep the ball all things equal and that trying to loop the ball without arc creates risk. Especially against pushes. Having the confidence to put spin on the ball just to make it...

One of the benefits of using faster and more expensive equipment is that at least in practice, I let the equipment do the work. So I don't have to swing quite as hard as I used to (which I hope on the whole is a good thing for my game). In matches though I do get carried away and this plastic...
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I don't think I have posted training video in a while in the era of COVID19. My club has almost officially re-opened. Here is my practice today. It is long, but basically, I open with my forehand looping to my partner's block, then my partner does his looping to my block, and then we switch...
  18. review and comparison; bluesponge hurricane 3 vs dignics 09c vs 37 degree hurricane 3

There are two kinds of commentators - expert commentary and entertaining color commentators. Very often, the expert commentators are people familiar with the NHL or hockey at a particular level. And usually, the color commentators, unless they have a reputation for good comedy, always are...
  19. review and comparison; bluesponge hurricane 3 vs dignics 09c vs 37 degree hurricane 3

That's entirely fair. I probably should just have pointed out the sexism and left it at that.
