  1. ZhangLei on MaLong's injury: Very serious, may affect 2020 olympics.

From what I hear, Timo doesn't practice much relative to other players. But in the end, I do know that because of multiball, you are often repeating many more shots than you would in tennis. But again, my sample was people who have played telling me specifically. My point is that if people...
  2. Should I change my blade or rubbers?

The main point of of DerEchte's post is that if you don't get a coach or have a friend to help you, the time you are putting into this inquiry will make no difference. You won't get a unanimous answer any ways. Hopefully something you hear will make you feel better.

Okay. I cede the point to FruitLoop. My sample was too limited. I suspect the specific player might play a role as well.
  4. How to backhand loop a super spinny pendulum serve that comes long

Guys, the OP is a better player than most of us (definitely than me at least). People should place that in context when responding. The issue with confidently killing a serve with the backhand is that you don't have the same room to adjust to the spin and you also need very powerful backhand...
  5. the story of Liang Jingkun

I am not sold on this interpretation. Mine is the following. LJK is one of the two most powerful players in CNT, the other being Fan Zhendong. LJK had always being overweight and despite fine technique and good power, had underperformed. He also has tactical limitations, not always reading...

Fruitloop, you would be surprised at how many men who are 2400+ who don't even find women's TT interesting or watchable. Not saying Lula is one of them, but that you shouldn't be surprised if a high level Male player has little interest in women's TT. In fact you should be pleasantly...
  7. TB ALC vs IF ALC (Koto vs Limba)

You have clearly caught the EJ bug in a big way. Good luck with it.
  8. ZhangLei on MaLong's injury: Very serious, may affect 2020 olympics.

Guys, I have no doubt you can eat whole food carbs and have a healthy career. I also have no doubt that fueling yourself consistently with Gatorade or similar drinks is a path towards diabetes. In fact, more and more athletes are training in relatively low carb states to avoid the high...

It is not an accident. I give a lot of credit to Carl and DerEchte for helping to cultivate that.
  10. ZhangLei on MaLong's injury: Very serious, may affect 2020 olympics.

It is - the problem is that you are exclusively focused on mobility because you don't have an appreciation of the full impact of TT on the body. As in, I know people who play both, and find it easier to play tennis than table tennis. There is an unnatural focus on bending knees and staying...
  11. ZhangLei on MaLong's injury: Very serious, may affect 2020 olympics.

People in wheelchairs can play tennis. The issue is whether the movements at the highest levels are more or less demanding on the body. My point is that there are people who have played both sports who find table tennis more dangerous to the body even if they find tennis a better work out. My...
  12. ZhangLei on MaLong's injury: Very serious, may affect 2020 olympics.

I am not sure I agree that high level TT is less demanding than high level table tennis. The movements are very different and I suspect that TT is far more debilitating on the joints. I know people who have stopped playing TT and gone back to tennis and their knees and joints feel much better...
  13. ZhangLei on MaLong's injury: Very serious, may affect 2020 olympics.

I agree with your opinion. Part of it I think is overuse of the body and another part is the inflammation caused by the powering of the body repeatedly with carbohydrates. But we will see how some of these things change over the coming decade.
  14. ZhangLei on MaLong's injury: Very serious, may affect 2020 olympics.

Timo has struggled with injuries throughout his TT career. In fact, this is one of the better periods of his career.

I post mobile often. You can view the regular site in a mobile phone if you have a good data plan. I guess the issue is that some people still need mobile views.

We practiced for 4 hours, this was the parting drill just because I wanted some exercise. I will probably go a bit faster next time and see what happens I just want to be sure my body can handle it.

We trained for almost 4 hours I think, that was the last thing before I left. I sweated a lot doing it but I will probably push harder next week. I am going off balance on some of my movements but I might just focus on either looping harder or keeping the ball lower.

Thanks for the compliments. Get me that Nexy Batos FL and if the handle and speed are right, you will see something truly amazing. It is a perpetual struggle to keep this Timo Boll ALC in my hand and play a whippy stroke. I prefer to use the Arche because of its handle but I don't want to use...

I do think you are trying to hit the ball past him and that I think is a mistake. We have similar styles but you are better off treating him as a defender and just playing rally shots or spin shots repeatedly.
