  1. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

Sure. But again, I won't talk too much without having heard the commentary. But ZJK playing in China Open is not the same thing as ZJK playing in the Super League or in the Japan Open.
  2. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

Didn't hear the commentary but that doesn't sound dead wrong to me. It just sounds factually wrong but could be practically correct. Think Robin Soderling.
  3. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

People aren't giving Franziska credit. It is easy to understand what happened if you note the number of times that Franziska dropped a short return and Xu Xin would wait for the ball to come long but it didn't. Xu Xin was also used to chopping the ball short and against most opponents they...
  4. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

That FZD doesn't convince you is amazing to me but to each his own.
  5. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

Are you thinking Teams or Singles? I am in my mind right now sketching a plan to see the singles in 2019. The teams would be better value but not sure whether I want to go to Korea for this...
  6. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

I agree but that shouldn't be a factor for the next 10 yrs.
  7. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

I know what you mean but I think those who disagree with you are closer to the truth. And as Ilia rightly said, it might be more the retirement of Ma Long and Xu Xin than the growth of new players. But here is my take: Liang Jingkun seems to be stepping it up in the gym and diet arena. That...
  8. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

A year to the next WTTC, two years to the next WTTTC likely a little shorter because it is an Olympic year.
  9. Harimoto defeats Fan Zhendong | Asian Cup 2018

I guess people can watch Soo's commentary if it is still available and form their own conclusions as to whether it justifies your self congratulation. Her analysis and evaluation of Hirano was more derogatory IMO. It's really funny how people cite matches from 7 years ago and use them as...
  10. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

Congrats to Germany! 2 years ago, Dima not playing, Boll injured, they didn't get out of the first round. In this event, they used a true team effort to get to the Finals, with Filus coming up big against Brazil when Timo and Patrick were injured. Hopefully, this will eliminate the bad taste...
  11. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

Team rules, the player cannot deny. I don't think people saw it. It might also have been a suggestion from the coach since he didn't stand to make it visible.
  12. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

He started pushing long and then it all changed....
  13. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

His short play won him the first set. Xu Xin baited him with those rally points - don't lose your focus, PF!
  14. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

Amazing short game display from Patrick!
  15. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

Oh, this was kinda obvious even watching Germany play yesterday. But unfortunately, this is China. It's not like any other country can do much better. It's like the kind of arguments people make against Ishikawa.
  16. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

I think after yesterday, I can't stand Bobrow any more. His rambling has become extremely offputting for me. Hopefully, it won't be a nauseating with some space. Hopefully, Adam is getting someone to grade him.
  17. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

So as I predicted, Dima has been dropped. He has my respect as a team player as he was so injured yet he fought to play for country. So its the GOAT vs the European Legend!
  18. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

Greedy. Don't know who is worse, fans of the German men or haters of Ishikawa...:p
  19. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

But she also said Hirano had no chance and LSW choked. So she was pretty much saying that Japan has no chance and is basically lucky. It is okay to say that ishikawa has no chance as long as you dont pretend that there are other much better players on Japan.
  20. World Team Table Tennis Championships 2018

Soo is now one of my favorite players... this ITTF commentary session has improved a lot.
