  1. Service Receive

Why tackle short serves first since you are hardly going to see them in a match at the level most of us play at?
  2. Service Receive

If someone serves to the short forehand from the backhand corner, the serve is usually short and high or long and loopable. I just wait for the ball to come long or ttry to flick it at first. It is when they prove that they can get it short with quality that I then start trying to push. Or...
  3. Ittf stupiiiiiiiiiid ranking

This is not true. All Wimbledon does, and they publicised it later, was take the last three years of playing at Wimbledon or in grass and use it to adjust the current ranking and they have actually toyed with not doing it anymore as grass has now played more similarly to other surfaces. In any...
  4. Jun Mizutani Forehand Topspin - Need Chinese Translator

I thought about this and get many of your points but think you are underestimating the importance of the racket angle regardless. It is a fade shot as well.

  6. Jun Mizutani Forehand Topspin - Need Chinese Translator

Thanks for this. He is basically teaching a high level deceptive forehand fade shot.
  7. What your blade setup ...

Tibhar Inca blade - it's a fairly light but fast Hinoki ALC blade Evolution MX-S 1.9-2.0mm both sides - hard sponge, soft topsheet heavy spin rubber. Some say it plays like a Chinese rubber. I know what they mean but it really plays closer to a hard sponge Tenergy 05. I have other blades and...
  8. Troublemaking at the 2017 US Open

It's just more accurate. Gives you another tool for promoting and denoting players etc. Or balancing our league teams the way ratings are used to seed players here.
  9. Nittaku SD ball

Unless they are reporting measurements from a calibrated scale, it is all subjective.
  10. China Super League 2017

FZD has more difficulties against lefties throughout his career but that is neither here nor there as he beats them with preparation. The Shang Kun match was clearly an anomaly as he played in the doubles slot. But he has never lost to Boll or Mizutani for example. As for fairness, of course...
  11. China Super League 2017

What I find interesting is that all people talk about is how LGY chokes but they will never discuss that he was down 4-6 to FZD and came back to win 8-6...
  12. 1,9 2.1 Rubber thickness

You could also argue that speed is dependent on level - you can get more speed out of 1.9mm because you don't have the skill to swing fast with 2.1mm and land the ball on the table. For me in general, 1.9mm is more for people who don't usually counterloop *if the sponge is soft*. If the sponge...
  13. Troublemaking at the 2017 US Open

There are many cheap hotels in Alexandria as well, but the hotel was a great option this year if you shared with someone or just wanted to enjoy your vacation. But it all depends on your stage in life as well, people like pgpg are at a slightly different stage from me who is at a slightly...
  14. Jun Mizutani Forehand Topspin - Need Chinese Translator

Please can someone who understands Chinese translate for me at a high level what the video is saying with a special emphasis on the two graphical simulations shown between 1:20 and 4:30? Thanks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q35_P8qEYZU
  15. Chinese Pro Equipment - Rubbers and Blades

Do better. Please. Photos distort small details too often for them to conclusively prove something like this.
  16. Chinese Pro Equipment - Rubbers and Blades

Don't forget the thickness of the glue. It counts.
  17. Chinese Pro Equipment - Rubbers and Blades

It's a personal thing. People use Innerforce ZLC and Boll ZLC with Chinese rubber. It all depends on what you like. Zylon is more expensive and harder to cut so less people who don't like the blade as is buy it.
