  1. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Guys, I didn't invent the combo. If you have any decent coach who is interested in teaching you things that win points rather than things that waste your time, they will go over this combination with you. Basically, there are two kinds of major serve and attack strategy. 3rd ball is trying to...

Smashfan was there on Saturday? Men, I should have slept better!

    Rubber cement? Oh well...
  4. Dimitrij Ovtcharov using Hurricane rubber at World Cup 2016!

I actually like how he played with it. With time to adjust, it is a good decision as he definitely pushed better with this forehand.

I played that pendholder a bit longer than that but my camera was off for part of it for some reason. My knees were burning by the time I stopped.
  6. Insane Exhibition between Timo Boll and Jorgen Persson 2016!

I have strongly felt for a while now that they should make exhibition table tennis or some form of it an Olympic event. China will probably still win but it will make TT far more popular than the serve and spin error fiestas out there today.

Not at all man. If you learn to use the wrist, it makes life much easier. You are penholder too so that is your advantage. The wrist makes it generate spin, challenge spin, serve short etc. That's why you can't serve short with deception right now - your arm motion is large so it gives the...
  8. What the hell happened to Dima?

I think given the changes in his life and his game, it is only to be expected. I found the way he actually played to be very technically sound. My guess is that he hasn't played enough left handers since making the changes and that will change over time.
  9. Men's World Cup 2016

IT can get you into the semi-finals of the WTTC and that still counts for something.
  10. Men's World Cup 2016

No accident they are both lefties. Not sure all those serves are what they appear to be...
  11. Men's World Cup 2016

Maybe not the top 4 but there are still the Fang Bos and Yan Ans of the world. And it is really more about how much one improves. The thing is that you need someone with the physical talent and drive of Ovtcharov, but with more technically sound strokes and footwork from youth. Those things...

I didn't record much of my play in NY at first and recorded more later. I basically sucked. I played a smasher twice and got my butt handed to me. Played a guy who hadn't played in 4 months and got worse and worse till the point he finally won a match while he got better. I played OSPH and...
  13. Der_Echte in NYC

The play list. Someone (probably an evil kid) moved the camera while we were playing so you will miss some points during the matches between myself and DerEchte. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL1xHYZmEaJtS9ipu3mOa3Sk7mSPQk7K-O

Don't let the sandbagger fool you. After he had clobbered me 3-2, 3-1, then I realized I had to attack even if I lost. That's what he means by attacking everything.

The high-toss servy b**stard still has it!
  16. Men's World Cup 2016

It works in the US now. Also works on mobile phones and devices without flash. Good job ittf.
  17. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

You can flat hit anything - the problem is two fold - you have to read the spin correctly and most of the time, the ball has to be above net height for significant accuracy. I play a kid who likes to drive everything. The problem of course is when the ball is below net height, his accuracy...
  18. Question on Biomechanics of the FH Loop

Since every stroke must also be adapted to the incoming ball, this is mostly a feeling and not a reality.
  19. Setup for Chinese style Arc/loop...

That is mostly because of the speed of the blade. The throw stuff is so subtle and needs a high level player to feel it and is largely a bunch of EJ crap. The rubber determines the throw and the blade speed adds to the arc. Everything else is mostly EJ speak except in the hands of a precise...
