  1. Something to think about regarding technique

Timo Boll notorious for using the whole finger up on the rubber when forehand pushing. So it is easy to overdo things like this which are pretty personal. I have my own opinions as well, but as long as Danny Seemiller does not know how to hold a paddle, that is what they are.
  2. Something to think about regarding technique

I actually think TTFrenzy is right here from one perspective. Or Persson would never be able to play. As a great English player once said, when it comes to technique and contact points, we all do things a little differently.
  3. Something to think about regarding technique

I have bad knees so I don't loop conventionally or use my hips as much. Maybe I will post a video on the experiments I do.
  4. Carbon or wood?

If you look at my equipment, you will see that my choice was informed. I even tried EL-P as well. But the spring sponge just helps me get more balls back when I am out of position.
  5. Carbon or wood?

I bought 2 Innerforce ZLCs thinking I needed more speed. Right now, I am back to my 5 ply Yasaka Sweden Extra. The only thing I have decided is that it is Tenergy 05 for the foreseeable future. I am not broke and I have wasted enough money testing rubbers.
  6. Something to think about regarding technique

I tried to get a similar effect by taking my wrist back on my loops and slapping forward into the ball. I haven't fully worked it out yet but I know my BH slaps into the ball far better and I want to reproduce that, I think talking the wrist back on the backhand is part of that.
  7. Something to think about regarding technique

IT's not as funny as you might think. PNatchwey used to post a lot of stuff on Tenergy 05 blogs and make lots of comments about looping theory and physics on mytt. I was already at his level or a higher level player than he was when I was reading those posts and here I was trying to apply them...
  8. Which poly ball should you choose?

I like their training balls a lot already. Anything else is icing on the cake.
  9. Players switching from Korbel to ZLF blades for poly ball?

Yes, I got the designation wrong - hard to check Google on a phone before posting sometimes ;).
  10. Players switching from Korbel to ZLF blades for poly ball?

Some blades from Xiom have Zephyllium and this is their version of Zylon so to speak. I think such blades are labeled Zx.
  11. Something to think about regarding technique

No one doubts Malin is a high level player, but mytt posters were unfamiliar with him. Moreover, criticizing public figures is not what this is about. This is really about reviewing private training from someone who has decided to offer themselves for public criticism/illustration. Other...
  12. Something to think about regarding technique

I must have mixed you up with someone else - my apologies. Why take this stuff seriously? Because people take some of these things seriously and assume that people posting are good players. You may not and that is fine. You can post video crushing anyone but it doesn't make you look good...
  13. Something to think about regarding technique

Since I was Malin's biggest critic and the most vocal opponent of his criticism, may I point out that as familiar as you might be with his play, that he had never posted video of his practice before making that comment? Even the later video he posted was pretty poor. And it wasn't the low...
  14. Something to think about regarding technique

TTFrenzy, can you please post the video you shared recently of your practice and maybe a match? Thanks.
  15. Something to think about regarding technique

Brian Pace was 2500-2600 USATT for most of his extended playing peak. That is 2100-2300 TTR. When I look at him and imagine him coaching me, I can appreciate some of his shortcomings but I would find those shortcomings in 95% of coaches who got good as children and haven't developed relatively...
  16. Something to think about regarding technique

Having your feet off the ground is not quite the same thing as jumping. Jumping is largely bad if it changes your level of vision during rallies but when it does no, it is largely meaningless.
  17. Something to think about regarding technique

It's actually physics and is more often discussed in the context of smashes (Richard McAfee's "Table Tennis: Steps to Success" is another reference). In any case, I have read enough here to feel even more chained to my position that people who have posted public video of their own strokes tend...
  18. Why do you boost?

I play with Tenergy 05 - Boosting is unnecessary.
  19. Cocked Wrist issue

The abnormally large arm thing is universal unless you work out the other arm....
