  1. Whats the "cheapest" but decent bh rubber?

So if I hit my forehand the way they describe, its a bad forehand rubber for me?
  2. Tibhar Kim Jung Hoon Beast Mod

I don't think it is purely marketing. If you read the blog thoughtsontabletennis.com, he gives an explanation in terms of where some of the vibrations of the blade need to go to for optimal feeling. Would still be nice to know whether there aren't benefits to making the holes smaller.
  3. Tibhar Kim Jung Hoon Beast Mod

Hmm... why doesn't Nexy build a blade without a hollowed handle or at least something less hollow.... Is that Par Gerrell at the Czech Open? Gotta go!
  4. Looper Vs Pushblocker as good as it gets

MY guess is that the pips are not pure long pips, but on the other hand, I have seen Joo do some amazing strokes with his BH that just don't compute. And there was a legend here that played in Philly two decades ago that had some amazing stories told about his control as well. With terminal...
  5. Nexy Swag!!!!

It's likely to - there are at least 6 tables set up with the ability to go to 8 or 9 and with barriers. NY issues have more to do with parking and tolls but we'll figure out something.
  6. Nexy Swag!!!!

But does a KJH beat a Yasaka Extra in quality and price?:p
  7. high and low throw rubbers

Would really like you to answer DTopSpirit's question. Don't have have to do more than *match* the rotation on the ball to impart truly heavy topspin?
  8. high and low throw rubbers

???? For the record, the most common description of my game is "heavy topspin both sides" also known as two-winged looping. This kind of nonsense only happens on the internet. I could spot you 7 points per game and still beat you and yet I have to put up with this nonsense.
  9. Looper Vs Pushblocker as good as it gets

Liu Song did a decent job playing that style and I have seen Chinese women give 2500-2650 US immigrant players issues playing that style. While the style has obvious limitations, I am 95% sure that Karakasevic would beat Kosta if you put pips on either side of Karaka's racket because of the...
  10. Timo Boll can't play the World Cup in 2015

Fan Zhendong is not going. I think when you think about what he signifies for the future of the sport, the fact that he hasn't played one yet because of the two players per nation rule is pretty amazing.
  11. Hey there

The ignore list is extra cool!
  12. Cheating in Table Tennis

Efficiency is one thing, but then there are the persistents - as in, those kids that rally so persistently well that if you decide you don't want to move, you will lose the match because they will hit the ball to places that you just don't like. When I play those kids, I wish I had footwork to...
  13. Timo Boll can't play the World Cup in 2015

In decisions such as these, I usually find consistency reasonably important when judging whether a decision was fair or unfair. Moreover, I see no reason why Boll should be treated any differently from say Samsonov with respect to this kind of decision.
  14. Timo Boll can't play the World Cup in 2015

From the host's perspective, definitely Kallberg. As someone pointed out, the tournament has missed Samsonov for a while as well. Would the tournament not be better with him? Ultimately, not everyone can play.
  15. Yuya Oshima - Future of japanese table tennis?

The way I see it is this - Mizutani's relies more on away from the table defense than other top players and is sometimes seduced by playing it as a match strategy because it can win him points against players who are inconsistent or who don't practice sufficiently against it. In fact, one of...
  16. Hey there

    Welcome Debo! Have fun here
  17. Timo Boll can't play the World Cup in 2015

On mytabletennis.net, someone made some very good arguments. He pointed out that in 2011, there was LEgout and MAttenet. In 2012, it was Pitchford and Drinkhall. In 2013, Germany had 3 spots and Belgium didn't try to get the 2 that had been customarily established at that point. In other...
  18. Cheating in Table Tennis

I guess my description of things sometimes assumes too much knowledge of my situation on the part of the reader - I need to get better at the full context. IMHO, footwork is not the same thing as movement. Footwork is learning and drilling the technically correct ways of moving to the ball...
  19. Timo Boll can't play the World Cup in 2015

A pity. But sometimes, it's frustrating how susceptible Timo Boll is to injury and illness. But I think he will also be obviously ranked high enough if he plays more events.

    What is the co-ordination ladder?
