  1. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

Tibhar K3 Pro is really good, a true alternative for D09c...for about two weeks. This isn't an issue for sponsored players. And I think they make deals with many clubs, hence the many Tibhar tables. High investment and high return.
  2. Modern rubbers are killing the rotation in the topspin play

Tensors has nothing to do with this. They are spinnier than the old rubbers were, it's just the ball. If you want to teach the kids to play a more spin based game, sure go for it. Tenergy is indeed pretty springy and D09c is expensive. Joining Tyce, I would say Fastarc G1 is a very good choice...
  3. Suggestions on rubbers for a man leaving h3 neo

I think if you are used to Hurricane Dignics09c will be a bit easier to play, but it still requires high effort and precision to use. Dignics05 and Tenergy 05 Hard (which is underappreciated I think). While personally I've only tried it briefly, the players who used T05H played with a classic...
  4. The BEST Long Pips from ALL Brands

My teammate uses OX Friendship and Dawei 388 pips and they broke within a month. 60% chopping, 30% blocking, 10% attacking with it I would say. He said he would try out something more expensive if it lasts. Is the Curl P1V still the best option for durability?
  5. Sanwei Su Style Tiger Claw: Better for teaching kids penhold?

My brother wanted to start with penhold, but traditional c-pen was uncomfortable for him. I really liked the design of the eagle beak series, but in the end we have gone with shakehand.
  6. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

Anyone knows what does Niu Guankai use? He had a red FH rubber in the nationals.
  7. Form is simply a means of consistency (a physics based approach)

Try to brush the upper side of the ball. Counterintuitive, but if you brush up pn the back of the ball you need to be more precise to have a good contact and racket speed and the same time. If you go more forward it frees up your stroke and it will be easier to lift.
  8. Topsheet recovery experiment

I've experimented a bit on old sheets which were used for outdoor play. I put baby oil on the topsheet as I've seen players to maintain the grip of their chinese tacky topsheets. All my sheets are multiple years old, worn, damaged by UV and oxidized. I've used only one droplet of baby oil and...
  9. Different Hurricane results based on boosting procedure

I just seen the video of Hwan Bae where he shows his H3 National BS and his are still lifting the ball pretty well. There is the usual shine as well. I am not sure which is the better.
  10. Cheap Chinese Gear

One of my training partners use the most basic 729 Friendship rubber. Not even the super fx, the cheapest one without a name (but still ittf approved). He treats the topsheet with oil regularly and it is spinny and grippy enough for half a year or a year for even fairly high level of competitive...
  11. Form is simply a means of consistency (a physics based approach)

Spin increases?!? I get it, forward momentum decreases more than spin, but that advice is nonsense, none of the benefits of early contact has anything to do with 'less spin'. If someone has trouble returning backspin they should be patient and learn the feeling instead of just mindlessly pushing...
  12. Form is simply a means of consistency (a physics based approach)

Racket angle at hit is a wrong approach because: 1.it will be very hard to apply in matchplay, your brain needs to do these calculations automatically. depending on many factors. 2.It's better to use an external focus instead of an internal, so focusing on hitting the upper part of the ball is...
  13. How much is going through your head during matches?

If I found a weakness, then I try to focus on that. But usually I just look at the opponent to figure out what to choose, to read their expectations and I have a idea what will come, both on serve and receive. And also keeping track on what works and what not, for example if I miss/pop up a lot...
  14. Yinhe Mercury Y13 – A Budget OFF Blade with a Premium Feel? review

I've had a fiberglass + limba outer blade before, it was quite terrible, no feeling and not much spin yet not stiff enough for hitting.
  15. Cheap Intermediate player paddle setup recommendations

Definitely get some chinese blade+rubbers prebuilt combo, they are the best bang for your buck and good enough for quite a long time. Yinhe, Sanwei, Loki, Friendship 729 and DHS are the brands you should be looking for (there are a few others I can't remember)
  16. Are Felix and WCQ good tactically?

Obviously they have overall good skills, but never felt like their plays are too thougthful or interesting. Like they are just plain better at the basic playing skills and reading the incoming balls. What do you think? Who are some players who you think are great at tactics but it's not obvious...
  17. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

I never played with pips but a few times I've tried them out or for training purposes, so I have no clue.
  18. How to improve muscular endurance on backhand drives and topspins?

As FH_Project said, shadow training, stretching and trying to relax as much as you can while training, the whole arm.
  19. Do you have to be fit to be a pro table tennis player?

Being overweight is a disadvantage, but the technical nature of the sport allows people to compete even at higher levels. I believe it worls the other way around as well, good physical prowess makes up for a lack of tactical ability. You should be able to exploit the limitations of players in a...
