  1. Viscaria Super ALC release!

Call my cynical...... But I'm not sure the change in speed (assuming the 12.1 vs 11.8 is accurate), is particularly noticeable. Butterfly have had much faster blades on the market for many years (that have since gone the way of the Dodo....). ZLC, SZLC and T5000 are all faster than the typical...
  2. Advice on 3rd ball

As Lula said, don't do serves where your 2nd shot is often under pressure. Also, Gonzo is probably spot on with the smash route - Without seeing the play in question, if the ball is high and over the table, you can probably smash/drive through the ball, without needing to "loop" it too much...
  3. Viscaria+ Rubbers change

Firstly, I’d only buy 09c if I had a good amount of disposable income, buying TT equipment brought me joy, or I was a top player who felt like it would help. If none of those applied to me, there are a lot of rubbers I’d buy that would do a similar job. Anyway, 09c is much more controlled...
  4. Aleksander Karakasevic TALKS SH**T!

I agree. I'd 100% support anyone trying to make a table tennis YouTube channel, but it becomes spam when a new thread is posted for every tiny little video (some are 5 seconds long with a clickbait title.....) If you have one Megathread where you can post new videos, you'll benefit from a well...
  5. Viscaria vs Harinoto ALC vs Dimitrij Ovtcharov Innerforce ALC

There isn't much in it. The OALC is more like a conventional Butterfly outer carbon blade IMO. It's a bit crisper and faster than the HALC which is slightly softer, slower with more control. If you want a wood feel in a fast bat - Get the HALC. If you want a more carbon feel in a bat with...
  6. Frustrated & Confused

I'm just going to be repeating what you already know at this point, but.... I will anyway 😀 Looks like you have not just a good coach, but possibly the best coach you can get - This is a major step in improving your long term game, and I'd 100% trust what they have to say. A comparison I can...
  7. Frustrated & Confused

Hey Gozo, People have already given solid advice, so I'll not repeat it. The only thing I'd say is that time is everything (especially when you have a coach teaching you properly, so we can rule out bad coaching). You probably want to be thinking in years, not weeks - Although this will...
  8. Rubbers regluing interval

This is a new one to me, and I'm not sure it's actually a good thing? When Speed Glue was banished, it was a good day! 😂 The hassle of glueing before every match or training sessions was such a nightmare! With modern rubbers and glue, I don't see any advantage in re-glueing for the sake of it...
  9. Rubbers regluing interval

You are re gluing the same rubbers to the same blade? Are you changing anything? Adding booster or changing rubbers?
  10. Rubbers regluing interval

Never. Once it’s close to dead (I usually leave 20-50% life in them), I just replace the rubber with a new one.
  11. Der_Echte's SDC Spartan XD

That looks stunning. This is the way......
  12. Table tennis club format

Would this be a club where there is no "local league"? How many people would you expect to come down? I would avoid "winner stays on" - It's not inclusive to the people who are improving. Assuming there is no local league (as my understanding is there isn't in most of the US), could you not...
  13. Video Footage Safe Thread

I have too much weight on both legs ;)
  14. Which should I use for my BH and FH and why?

If you are sticking with those rubbers regardless, my instinct would be to use H3 NEO on the FH and T05 on the backhand. BUT...... As you have the blade and rubbers, you can try it for yourself, and see which way around you like it.
  15. Which should I use for my BH and FH and why?

That's an OK blade to use - But again, probably on the fast side for someone still developing. Can you do any sort of filming? Without it, it's almost impossible to make good recommendations because you might be much better than you think, or you could be much worse. The equipment you have is...
  16. Video Footage Safe Thread

Both Timo and Dima have more of a bent arm than I remember, but I've never really looked that closely! I think they both straighten it more than you can see on the videos, especially when going for more power. For what it's worth, I did a rubber review of some cheap Chinese thing a few years...
  17. Which should I use for my BH and FH and why?

It's really hard to say without seeing you. My first thought is that Tenergy 05 is going to harm your development in the long run. It's a very advanced rubber that doesn't allow for many mistakes at all. H3 NEO isn't as bad, and you could use this on your FH (if you are a FH dominant player)...
  18. Which should I use for my BH and FH and why?

What sort of level do you play at? Can you record a short video at all (or do you have any already?) Both rubbers you've got can be used to great effect on both FH and BH, so you are in a good position!
  19. Video Footage Safe Thread

Yeah that's better, but make sure you are starting lower. A lot of it will come from the knees/torso. 2 really good videos for you are: Timo (back in the day!) - And a more modern (right handed) approach:
  20. Butterfly blades - the whole truth!

Out of interest, why is it important to you, and what do you look for? It’s something I’ve never once considered in choosing a blade, and outside of these forums (probably the majority inside as well), I’d be surprised if many people were knowledgeable enough or good enough to notice any...
