  1. World Table Tennis Championships 2023

This is a very strange setup 🤨
  2. Repainting a table tennis table

You can forget about painting the surface for a table tennis table yourself. You will never succeed like in a factory. You should already be able to spray it in a dust-free room and I don't know if you're going to have that option.
  3. Repainting a table tennis table

    @Arkadi, by chance on Crete?
  4. Life, Existence, and the Meaning of Long Pips - The Opus Maximus of James Z

Yellow and red without consequences, surely? The whole arbitration is one joke
  5. Using shoulders in forehand topspin?

Topspins used to be explained completely differently than they are in modern table tennis. Previously, a topspin came much more from the shoulder and the ball was also taken much lower with a long arm movement. Just look at J-M Saive's topspin move. Many more injuries were sustained because over...
  6. This kid ghosts serve in match and wins point

Perfectly legal service. Better than some top players.:p
  7. Best Andro blade for an offensive, controlled game?

I would rather say that their grip is not made for larger hands.
  8. Horrible backhand, stiff wrist.

@ Gozo, TS writes, "I am the man with the tattoos", as far as I can see he is the man with the green/beige T-shirt on. He plays also with a Cyber.
  9. Horrible backhand, stiff wrist.

Nothing wrong with your FH. But I would mainly train on your BH, a lot! Do a lot of exercises, first behind the ball, then with sideways movements. In the first instance, pay particular attention to your elbow. It should be slightly higher and slightly outward. Your wrist should also become more...
  10. Alexis Lebrun Asics shoes

Asics shoes are not wide enough for me.
  11. Best Andro blade for an offensive, controlled game?

I've been credited with a signed copy (by Gauzy) from Dan for almost three years now, but have never received it or been reimbursed for it. 😠
  12. Best Andro blade for an offensive, controlled game?

Andro is not the cheapest brand for good blades, but I have been playing with various Andro blades for 20 years. My last one is/was an Andro TP_Linga CI. Lots of control, fast but certainly not super fast. I'd check out this series. Or else I would certainly also take a look at the Treiber...
  13. New "Rules" for Table Tennis

Indeed, and that just doesn't happen (anymore) in current table tennis! You can serve almost from wherever you want, as long as the point of contact is not above the table but behind your baseline or its extensions. Simply rule 2.06.04: From the start of service until it is struck, the ball...
  14. New "Rules" for Table Tennis

I think we saw most of the male and a few female matches last week and the umpires regularly pointed out the ball out but rarely for the over table serve. When Lim JH serves, he does it from the side of the table in 90% of the cases. In this service, his point of contact with the ball is always...
  15. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

    Zhang Jike in Rotterdam (2011)?
  16. New "Rules" for Table Tennis

Well yes, I have now seen many matches of the gentlemen. Referees have indicated several times that the throwing should not be given backwards. As far as I know I can still see reasonably well, but what I've seen in the last week is unbelievable. Not a single time, but not a single time, was...
  17. New "Rules" for Table Tennis

I'm not talking about whether or not to hide. Overall find this to be quite good. Little to no reprimands for this by the referee as well.
  18. New "Rules" for Table Tennis

Lol, I'm just now seeing this thread! Very funny topic. 🤣 Apparently rule 16 is absolutely no longer applicable in today's table tennis. There is also no broad basis for this on the forum because everyone apparently thinks illegal serving is okay.
  19. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

And...he touched the corner of the table several times with his right index finger! Why would he do that? 🤔
  20. WTT Champions Xinxiang 2023

Why are there rules? I think they make rules to get uniformity about behavior, fair play, services, rubbers, clothing, etc... They then translate these into regulations. If those regulations are no longer to be followed, I think this may be communicated to all their affiliated members worldwide...
