  1. How do i resolve some of my critical errors

The biggest issue I can see is footwork. You're kinda walking around which is way too slow. During the FH serve you need to step on your left foot explosively (to use the weight transfer), and using this momentum to set the right foot way more to the middle of the table and further back, and...
  2. Difference between Hurricanes

Damn how does your 09c last that long?!
  3. Truls Moregard's Serve

What do you mean - he has all 3 types of serves from the same position- FH pendulum, heavy under/no spin, and hook serve. With these 3 types of serves you can serve all types of spin to every placements possible. I wouldn't say his serves are simple....
  4. San Francisco looking for training partner.

It's the toes and how they face. When you do a FH powerloop there is incredible amount of torque flowing through. I noticed some players feet do not move throughout the shot which causes this torque to be applied to the kneecap which is the cause of many issues. There's a mechanism which...
  5. How far do you think Sun Yang can go?

In that case it should be even easier to train up a lethal BH punch. Not sure why the SP choppers don't actually train this shot... So the idea is to chop with so much spin that they're forced to either take a lot of risk with their loops, or if they do a half ass opening loop, just crush them...
  6. What do you think of Yuna Ojio's style?

I think I saw something like that before in TT shops. But I never actually seen someone play with it before...
  7. How far do you think Sun Yang can go?

Probably no future in CNT, sorry to say. He will get absolutely destroyed in internal competitions unless he uses his LPs offensively and close table instead of always retreating to chop. Not just CNT but there are a lot of players out there with big FHs which will destroy him.
  8. What do you think of Yuna Ojio's style?

Looks like SP of some sort on the FH imo.
  9. What do you think of Yuna Ojio's style?

I never really understood the benefits of her grip, it is not as flexible as penhold but yet is not solid for imparting hard power.... the only benefit is that it looks weird visually and the opponents are not used to it?
  10. How to play against a long pips blocker as a two-wing looper?

Last tournament that I was in, I beat a few long pips ppl by simply doing BH lifts against backspin (ie fake loops) rather than looping them. They thought it was a loop and dumped all of them into the net when they blocked it. Then when they try to adjust for it i just switched back to my full...
  11. Three person practice

Just do multiball sessions rotating each one who can train a specific weakness. It's one of the best ways to improve.
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Finally cracked a bit of the code for looping continuously with very high quality without missing a beat. I used to not be able to do that. So basically no recovery step after loop is definitely not correct because you'll be caught wrong-footed more often than not during high speed rallies...
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Not sure why that is a controversial thing at all?
  14. How to return a forehand loop with side spin away from you

Best bet is to continue the spin especially for loops - see my recent thread about going against the spin vs spin continuation. So if it spins anticlockwise you continue to spin it anticlockwise.
  15. Why do professionals like ML keep his free arm near his body?

Free arm is very important - if you pull with the lats of the left arm it helps with the rotation and you can do it more explosively. With BH it's also same, you have to use left hand to aim at the ball and help with power.
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I usually play with a lot of spin (still playing aggressive and trying to get 1st loop in) in the first set, before increasingly hitting harder in the subsequent sets when I feel more comfortable and am making less mistakes. My winning chances are much higher when my feeling for spinning the...
  17. Idea for training serve receive

Not too sure about the exact terminology but they behave differently on the table and also has to be adjusted for.
  18. Idea for training serve receive

Sidespin is not as easy too, there's 2 types of sidespins, one brushed from the bottom of the ball and one brushed from the back, one has a huge curve and the other doesn't. And also ppl are varying the degree of sidespin too. With hook serves there's also serves with reverse sidespin so there's...
  19. Xuperman Powerplay-x: A Rubber by Xu Xin

I don't understand how a rubber can be bad at generating underspin, but amazing at topspin.... aren't both qualities linked to the same spin characteristics of the rubber itself?
  20. Xuperman Powerplay-x: A Rubber by Xu Xin

Yes that is true. There are tricks and techniques to robbing the ball of its existing momentum using the body, that one must know in order to short push well with T05 or D05. It's not impossible to short push (even against sidetopspin) with D05. The real problem is that even if you can short...
