i can just say that my two hugo HAL looked exactly like the one in the video you linked when they were new.

my commercial version is also dark, because they use black limba instead of normal limba and if you play with it it gets even darker, so i can imagine this can make the confusion. the arylate in HAL is orange.

but what isn't similar then in your view? it is as said just a heavier version with maybe better wood selection.

maybe you can share the pic. but i still can think that it maybe is just the dark limba underneath that gives the illusion of a carbon layer

g-1 doesn't have a long arc, rather a high one and this can also lead to overshoot if you not close the racket enough or go forward with your stroke. HAL is a nice blade, but still rather stiff, so coming from 5 ply an innerfibre blade is easier to transition to. vega x has the same spin...

because of stuff like this i can’t be bothered anymore to take of the glue and just put a thin layer on top. some clubmates of mine don’t even put a new layer on just one on the wood. i remove glue only after several removals

no worries, i have seen way worse. you can play with that easily. if it would be in the hitting window, then it would be more dramatic, but this looks manageable :)

the part that you don’t need to worry about counterloop is a really good advice indeed. i also think that 90% of ‘hobby’ player block and if they try to counterloop, then they will likely miss and then get nervous, wich is even better for you. only scary counter player on low level are smasher...

i also like behind the table angle much more and most of my clubmates. only one coach i know likes the sideangle because we can see the back and forth footwork better, but thats it

mine too. i have one playing nittaku g-1 and tenergy 05 and the nittaku holds longer. but hybrid mk is dislisked because of bad durability so also depends how you play.
