after his serve fzd returns and then Truls does a very (in my eyes) weird backhand .. like a backhand chop to counter fzd's topspin

Nitty master stroke, indeed. Truls certainly learned the trick from this given Dan's video.
The ball looks to go drowsy by some mysterious force, noway can we tell which phisics did cause this amazing effect. Drowsy ball is an awesome phenomene in defiance of classical mechanics, indeed.
