Join the club at the recovery reset thread :P it helped me improve recovery after every stroke (serve, push, flick, counter, loop)
  2. The different ways of boosting

I don't understand people who get angry playing the sport. Dude if this increases your blood pressure maybe you shouldn't be playing it as a hobby. I recently played with a pips player who cursed four letter words like a hundred times during practice (not even like an exciting game), guy was...
  3. how comfortable are you with hard (53+) rubber on your backhand?

If you try say like few hundred BH loopkills with hard tacky rubber in a night - the strain adds up everywhere... Of course there's no strain with push, block, counter really.
  4. how comfortable are you with hard (53+) rubber on your backhand?

I've played with Hurricanes and other harder tacky rubbers on BH before and imo it's not worth it. Sure you can hit harder but do you really want to put your body under so much unnecessary strain just for the advantages in short push? Imo at an amateur level short pushes are not as point winning...
  5. how comfortable are you with hard (53+) rubber on your backhand?

How hard is D05? I feel it is also quite hard in general, and a lot of ppl use it on the BH.
  6. Life, Existence, and the Meaning of Long Pips - The Opus Maximus of James Z

Out of curiosity, is there a blade with Viscaria like speed on the BH and inner carbon like spin and behaviour on the FH? I would actually be quite interested to try out something like that.
  7. Life, Existence, and the Meaning of Long Pips - The Opus Maximus of James Z

Another flawed assumption is that FH is better than BH. I think my BH is more dangerous than my FH especially in attacking short balls, and overall is my stronger wing. There's a lot of other club players who have stronger BHs than FHs.
  8. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I tried a new mechanism for the BH to further improve body-ball connection - the feeling of using the entire upper body to grab and throw the ball out. I think it helped me get a lot more body power into the BH loop especially when opening against heavy underspin long fast serves - also helped a...
  9. Camera angles at WTT

The angle that they produced for the recent contender is just so, so pretty. Conspiracy theory is that they're reserving these videos to be sold to the highest private bidder for the major events.
  10. The different ways of boosting

Over here there's a shop who has made a business out of boosting rubbers for busy ppl for $5 each lol. I was thinking of that and imo Dignics quickly becomes a cheaper proposition.
  11. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

Fully agree with your observations. I feel it's also a bit not so straightforward in terms of foot mechanics. I recently discovered that the feet can also pronate (ie rotate around its own axis) very strongly similar to the forearm - we literally pronate a little when we're walking or running...
  12. Camera angles at WTT

    We just want this :(
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes - I found out earlier that these serve practice without recovery reset can only be done by pros because they already have the recovery reset built into their brain. Otherwise you cannot recover in time to attack the 3rd ball. The way I do it now for FH serves is to start with weight on my...
  14. What do you think the no.1 Korean amateur player's rating would be?

Actually their FH loops are absolutely loaded with spin. Yellow guy is really good but really he is bullying the penholder's BH. If he faced off against someone with a legit modern BH it might be a different story. It's actually quite interesting how he is exploiting the weakness of TPB. I'm...
  15. Camera angles at WTT

Why are all the best angles in the Contender series and not at all for the bigger events? I would be much happier if they could have for eg the WTTC filmed from this low diagonal angle
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes, it appears that Harimoto aims for the flick first, and only pushes when he can't get a flick in due to too much underspin or bad positioning. Maybe this is the type of game that D05 encourages.
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Lol yeah D05 is horrible in the short game - I used to be able to push even half long heavy reverse sidetopspin back short with Hurricane with tons of sideunderspin making it almost a trap for the opponent. Now anything that's not short or not underspin is a nightmare to push back short. They...
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I have the same feeling when I'm using way too much BH chiquita - the forearm gets tired and my %s goes down. I've been trying to implement upper body weight transfer as a power mechanism in the backhand chiquita too but it's still a work in progress. The idea is that you shift your upper body...
