  1. Best and fastest rubbers for a beginner

    Fast and powerful topspin game.
  2. Best and fastest rubbers for a beginner

It sounds like your coach also loves the bang bang bang game 😂
  3. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

My cue to maintain a forward lean is not about the toes but just stick my butt out 😂 it's not easy to maintain the posture though... I also don't do it when shadowing footwork because I'm lazy af , I will only do it when I'm on the table.
  4. Table tennis shoes, where to buy?

Just wondering if you guys bought shoes online and if yes, what was your experience and which site did you buy it from, is the shipping expensive?

Extremely difficult to beat them. I used to win only 20-30% of games against my partner. Guy would randomly twiddle to LP during serve receive to completely mess up his opponents, and sometimes even during the rally itself. Somehow the LP also allows him to bring a lot of long balls very short...
  6. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

I think it's not for everyone. I don't play like Mima Ito or even the kid anyways. I think Fan Zhendong and Ma Long both spend quite a lot of time on their heels, and of course pushing off them often too - it's very dynamic rather than just saying that heels off all or even 90% of the time.
  7. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

Ok maybe I didn't really get your point about the exceptions. I don't have the best footwork for sure but the recovery resets have definitely helped me improve it vastly. I'm also always looking for ideas to improve, but imo heel raised all the time is not it. I just feel like you cannot lift...

I found a very interesting shot by Ovtcharov in the final - it made me realise why my BH smash against high balls sucks in general - my racket is always same height as my elbow during preparation - for higher balls the racket should actually be higher than the elbow like Ovtcharov illustrates...

Finally won against my nemesis the twiddling LP/inverted penholder over the course of many games. Glad to see my work paying off especially on footwork and recovery, the FH flick, and also the addition of some new serve types (almost pure topspin with the opposite sidespin with a hook movement...
  10. How to play vs double Pips out?

I finally won against my LP/inverted penholder partner today and can share some tactics I used. I used majority long serves to the pips (FH pendulum, hook, heavy under/no spin) with various spins and placements with lots of fake movements and disguises. They can't loop so you basically have...
  11. How to play vs double Pips out?

It depends on your playing style. Everyone plays pips a little differently.
  12. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

Thanks - I agree that sometimes mental ideas do work as you said. Stance width and forward lean is quite important as you mentioned. For me my mental note is to have my legs wider than half the width of the table, I'm setting up for the serve receive with my left leg slightly outside the left...
  13. Bounce with the Ball / Split-Step

I actually disagree with having the heel raised all the time - it's tiring af and is detrimental to full weight transfer. When you load up before a loop you need full weight on your right leg (less so with BH loop), but it's not possible with your heel raised. Furthermore having the heel raised...

Those chopblocks were just 🔥 unbelievable technique on those!
  15. TESTING TRULS MOREGARD'S TABLE TENNIS BAT!

I sold my cybershape because it's incompatible with the BH chiquita :( My wrist just hates the blade.

Recovered a lot from my cold and managed to really elevate my attacking level. Things I implemented today include a very heavy pure underspin / no spin serve combo. The huge advantage is that it almost shuts down the chiquita and forces the push-push game (my partner really loves his chiquita...
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes - he clearly had the ability to attack all the long serves and pushes but chose to control it instead which gave away the 1st attack opportunity. Looping is harder physically than just collecting points off opponent's mistakes. But maybe he's just testing his opponent's ability to adjust for...

Imo the biggest advantage of spin is the extra safety it provides via the Magnus effect pulling balls downwards toward the table. This is the reason why only inverted players can hit hard winners off balls below net height. You simply cannot do it with any other type of rubber due to the lack of...

Although that is generally true, I'm pretty sure pushblocker on mytt managed to become a state champion while only pushing and blocking 😂 I myself am quite spin oriented but I still lose plenty to players who don't spin the ball anywhere close to my levels especially the combination LP/inverted...

I recorded a small sample with a slightly exaggerated weight transfer movement (take note of where the upper body is leaning towards). I think you already push from the right foot well, just that you don't press down on the left foot at the end - this pressing down on the left is a mechanism to...
