  1. Most Soft-Feeling Artificial Fiber

Hi Carl, what are your thoughts on SZLC vs. ZLC?
  2. Customized my Viscaria

Haha, how about half and half?
  3. Customized my Viscaria

I like that name Pistol Grip! I'll start shaving off the palm side of the flare, and will see about leaving the fingers side or not haha. My blade is actually the Mizutani Jun (ZL) that preceded the ZLC and Super ZLC: http://www.tabletennisdb.com/blade/butterfly-jun-mizutani.html
  4. Customized my Viscaria

Thanks Kevin for all the tips! I will definitely take my time, stop and look frequently. Could you please send me a link to the hand sander you got at Lowe's or a similar model so I get a better idea of what to buy. Also meant to ask you, what made you decide to keep the FL on the other side?
  5. Customized my Viscaria

Nice! I'm thinking on turning my Viscaria FL into a full ST. I also don't like the flare hitting the palm of my hand. May I ask how your friend proceeded, what materials he used, and if he has any tips? Looks like we have the same preferences! Rubbers included! ;)
  6. Customized my Viscaria

Please post pictures when you can. I've been interested in sending my Viscaria down to an ST.
  7. New blade - Tibhar Samsonov Quad Allround

Never heard of Silla but this blade looks very nice. The VSQ looks quite nice as well, I usually find Tibhar blades to be plain-looking. But aside from that, please tell us what you think of them performance-wise!
  8. Stiga and Yasaka handle sizes?

Hi, I'm trying to find the measurements (Length, Width, Depth) for Stiga handles (specifically Master, Legend & Classic) and Yasaka (FL & ST). Unlike Butterfly or Nittaku which lists this info for each and every single one of their blades, these measurements are not readily available on Stiga &...
  9. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

Thank you again, great thread! I also think it's a head heavy racket that's rough of my wrist. If the weight is more toward the handle or balanced, I don't feel it as much or notice it at all. It makes sense after all, it's the head that swings, the handle stays in your hand.
  10. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

Here's mine: 7.6 inches / 193mm Skinnier with long skinny fingers!
  11. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

I think I do tend to hold a bit too tight with my bottom 3 fingers and that my forearm can be tense. This is especially true with the Viscaria and its 100 x 25 x 34 mm FL handle, and less so with my MJ and its 100 x 22 x 27.5 mm ST handle. Trust me, your hands and wrists are a lot larger than...
  12. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

The one mod I saw was of the semi-hollow Stiga handle filled (with resin?) then installed on the Viscaria. To answer your questions, I'm in my 30's and this is how I typically hold my racket. I focus on holding it with my index and thumb just as you have mentioned and putting hardly any...
  13. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

Thanks Carl! This is something that I've been trying to put focus on, and this video pin points it very well. I will try these exercises.
  14. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

My wrists and hands are definitely small and not strong, but otherwise healthy. That is why a seemingly lighter setup feels better and puts less stress on them. I should absolutely look into strengthening exercises, thank you for the suggestion. Ah, I've seen some of Der_Echte's beast mode...
  15. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

Good point. That's what I've experienced as well.
  16. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

Woah, great to know. Didn't realize the pros used so many layers. I'm trying to cut down on the weight of my setup as I have small wrists, it seems to help relieve stress on my wrists and make them more mobile and feel better in general. One of my blades is 93.5g and seems way too heavy for...
  17. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

It does seem to evaporate indeed. If I weigh the setup after a while, it goes down by a few grams.
  18. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

Thanks. Good to know I'm not going overboard. Which glue do you use? And do you give the rubber one or 2 coats?
  19. Is 5g of glue too much glue?

Haha, well I'm trying to go down in weight a little and also making sure I'm not over-gluing and taking away from the response of the rubber. But if it doesn't seem like a ton of glue, then I must be ok! Thinking of switching to Nittaku Fine Zip as I hear it's more sticky.
