  1. What is the best method to clean the rubbers?

I never use anything other than distilled water.
  2. TeXtreme® Technology by STIGA!

Here are websites from the Swedish company that invented these new types of carbon materials (and who own the trademark for TeXtreme). Stiga is getting their carbon from these guys. Maybe someone who has material engineering background can translate a bit. http://oxeon.se/technologies...
  3. London Olympics Match Fixing Revealed

I have often had my doubts about LGL. I wonder what the reaction will be in China? It seems that even native Chinese translators are not quite in agreement about what was actually said.
  4. Poly Ball Bounce Heights

There are two Nittaku plastic balls. One, called Nittaku SHA40+ is made in China, I think by DHS. It is a typical Chinese seamed ball, fragile, heavy, low bounce. I don't like them at all. A different ball is the Nittaku Premium Japan 40+ ball, which is currently made at a different factory...
  5. Poly Ball Bounce Heights

All that you have written is true, TK and TTN. I have quite literally tried them all. IMHO, Nittaku Premium Japan 40+ is best followed by XSF. Then all the Chinese seamed balls including Nittaku SHA are pretty much the same. To me, I would say three quite different plastic ball types, plus...
  6. Ma Long & Zhang Jike's blades @ World Cup!

Yes. A good sample of a commercial Viscaria is an almost perfect blade in every way. If they send him a bunch of them in the weight he likes, he will find one or two perfect blades. There is a reason he doesn't play with any of the new ZJK blades. He likes Viscaria better. If there was...
  7. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

Technically, the competition was over when kicked the barriers in celebration so he didn't really break the rules of the competition. Maybe that is not a great argument, but I have been thinking it for awhile.
  8. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

Players need to get organized or the ITTF will continue to pull crap like this.
  9. Mens World Cup 2014

The greatest #2 player the world has ever seen, and Ma Long is heading toward the same category but it is too soon to say. Maybe Ma Long will win the next five major tournaments in a row. Every Ali needs a Frazier, so that is not a knock on these guys.
  10. Mens World Cup 2014

It is true that WLQ did not win a career slam but he is definitely someone who did more than the others in this group. Multiple World championships, and ranked #1 in the world for 48 straight months!!!! Ma Long is not in the same category as that yet, either is Boll. Wang Hao is not too far...
  11. Mens World Cup 2014

It seems like everybody is pretty well adjusted to the balls now. Nice for us to see some really high quality play again.
  12. Ma Long & Zhang Jike's blades @ World Cup!

It looks exactly like my Viscaria from the same angle. If he was using some specially made super-duper secret version, wouldn't he just use one of the blades that has his name on it? Chances are they are Viscarias more or less like others except that they send him a bunch of them at exactly...
  13. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

The problem is that their has been no transparency or signs of due process, and if it was LGL that was behind this, things are even worse than I thought.
  14. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

I am not sure I have read any comments like that (didn't read the whole thread though). I think there have been a lot of nuanced comments that basically come down to the idea that some punishment would be certainly warranted, but that $45,000 was ridiculous. I could even imagine a suspension...
  15. Timo Boll struggling with new plastic ball?

I think it's possible that a lot of players WERE struggling with the plastic ball but maybe most are fully adjusted now.
  16. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

This is exactly correct, well stated. As it is now, ITTF are guilty of the same thing he is, which is reacting inappropriately in the aftermath of a big event. It also evinces no respect for the players and what they go through. And $45,000 for what he did is simply unjust. Consider the...
  17. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

I am very cool about this (in reply to whoever it was who said to cool down and think about this). I consider that the ITTF response is so ridiculously disproportionate that it comprises the sports administration equivalent of kicking barriers. In other words, the leadership of the ITTF lost...
  18. Zhang Jike fined 45.000 euros!

I think it is theft; 45000 fine for that!!!!! Absurd. People wonder why players have no respect for ITTF.
  19. Timo Boll struggling with new plastic ball?

Tony, the only DHS balls I have played with were made in June (XFAD stamp on box). They are not good, bounce low, break, roundness issues. Do the more recent ones at least have a higher bounce?
  20. iPong Poly Pro Seamless Table Tennis Balls.

I didn't like them either (the IPong balls) but they were free so I can't complain too much and I appreciate very much all that the Joola guys have done when they visit our club. I especially enjoyed hitting with Steven). These IPong balls are like the XSF balls that I got to try almost a year...
