  1. Has average rally length really decreased?

That footage shows exceptional play. Way back when 38mm and speedglue, it was rather rare to see anything after the 3rd ball. Many outright serve points, the overwhelming rest 3rd ball kills. Our memory is treacherous and these relatively quick and unspectacular exchanges are eclipsed by the...
  2. How do you choose between blades of the same model?

That is the paradox of choice. The more of it, the lesser the satisfaction. There’s always that nagging remorse. Don’t buy into that. Settle for well enough and leave the grass on the other side be.
  3. Rubber Recommendations for Joola Aruna OFF

I actually believe I did just that.
  4. How do you choose between blades of the same model?

Waitaminute, I sort of got that with rubber cement, the speedgluing thing. Surbek slapped his Srivers on soaking from it, I recall vividly. Is this still a thing with waterbased glues? I would have thought the speedgluers had resorted to booster oils.
  5. Rubber Recommendations for Joola Aruna OFF

Do you have any footage of you playing?
  6. Rubber Recommendations for Joola Aruna OFF

That's a very fast blade for an allround style... and a low budget. Within these confines, I'd go for DHS Neo Hurricane 3, Yinhe Big Dipper or Friendship Battle II probably - although you might get to spent just slightly over $40.
  7. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Been tinkering with a hard FH rubber (50º) for a few weeks so far. Physically very demanding and my game tanks atrociously when my energy level drops, as it is wont to do after one and a half hour or so. But it "clicks", deep down, and I get a very nice touch with it in the short/passive game...
  8. How do you choose between blades of the same model?

Yes, and remarkable. Also, @4:00 — that insane amount of glue! I never do that, as my experiences with gluing have led me to believe that a thin layer creates the stronger bond. Am I wrong?
  9. LF All Wood Blade like Korbel but with smaller head size

If I recall correctly, OP NextLevel has been subject to physical limitations (knees) and is adapting his technique and equipment to cope. For most of us not suffering this, the "power from the ground" mantra is key to getting explosive movement (swing speed) using whip mechanics for power and...
  10. Seeking replacement for Hans Alser OC

This so reminds me of the "Offensive Wood" Stiga blades I started out with. Including the top plies peeling off, sadly. I think the composition was koto/dyed spruce/ayous/dyed spruce/koto, with the dyed intermediate layer brightly red. This generation is found every now and than on the second...
  11. Tips on how to get out of push battes.

+1 for the nospin push. If you vary the level of spin in your pushes between heavy and none, you’re bound to get popups and net hits against oppos that insist on keeping pushing. With some practice, you can vary spin levels in such a way that it is really hard to see what you’re doing to the ball.
  12. LF All Wood Blade like Korbel but with smaller head size

Yes. Cut away a few strips and use heavier inlays.
  13. LF All Wood Blade like Korbel but with smaller head size

Primorac == Korbel with smaller head, no?
  14. LF new Blade Currently playing Keyshot

My $.02 says: don’t obsess on weight. It’s the balance that matters, when equipped with the rubbers of your choice.
  15. World ranking rigged?

    Are you talking post-Shahara?
  16. World ranking rigged?

To me you're showing that bias first and foremost, and your observations (while valid) are not free from the suspicion of confirmation bias. But you're very clear on your bias, compliments for that. Yet I, personally, do not see the "pattern of malicious intent" that would make me think...
  17. Thoughts on JOOLA Infinity Robot

That TenniRobo looks very useful as well. I do like the Joola Infinity's design, though, and see value in both. The Joola kickstarter's funding is at 75.71% of the set goal, with 10 days to go. About 20 backers more and it's set to go; it's starting to look feasible at least. I'd like it to...
  18. World ranking rigged?

You started out by claiming the ITTF to be obviously corrupt. A bold claim that requires substance. Where is it?
  19. 2019 ITTF Hong Kong Jr Cadet Open

I think it needs be said that pretending it’s business as usual is not just questionable (by the looks if it it’s pretty far from that), but a not so gentle nod to a political agenda (“move along folks, nothing to see here”). And I don’t like that habit of looking away for convenience and...
