  3. Is ma long the GOAT ?

    What?
  4. Favourite Table Tennis Player

I'm taking some time out to conceive a proper disciplinary measure for that gross neglicence there, young Mart1n.
  5. Is ma long the GOAT ?

Probably not many mathematicians here. However, a basic thing of that realm seems to be of importance here. Whenever asked to provide the solution to a particular problem, the first challenge to be met when delivering the actual proof (solution) is to verify the existence of a solution. If...
  6. I’m in wrong path.. need Allround blade / Control blade & rubber

Mark V has me in mental splits. I've started out playing with it when young and could spin the ball like nothing else with it back then. I tried it again when picking up a blade again 30+ years later, and was severely disappointed. So much so that I cannot reconcile my memories of days past...
  7. Spin is better than Speed - I am a believer now.

That sad fate is probably more widely shared than commonly realized.
  8. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes. Slumps happen. I don’t know how to break out of them; that also just seems to happen. Maybe letting go of the notion that the performance matters helps. I have them; and when they happen I still seek to have fun in playing, even when poorly.
  9. Is ma long the GOAT ?

“Nicht ärgern. Nur wundern.” (Don’t be annoyed. Just be amazed.)
  10. Is ma long the GOAT ?

Wow, that derailed quite a bit. Usually that’s just annoying, but I find the fulminations against positions not taken here quite insightful, and entertaining to boot. Kudos to all combatants!
  11. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Might be a question of semantics (as if those are unimportant... well, d'oh). Even my flat hits will have a little topspin, and I've seen some refer to these hits as "drives" and consider them to be loops, albeit rather shallow ones. Yes, definitions, probably. Still, I like to consider it a...
  12. Artengo Perfly BS190 Blue

After a few borderline injury issues that I felt had to do with training load, I thought it might be smart to try out different shoes, and maybe alternate between them to lessen the training stress somewhat. I looked over the fence, and stumbled upon badminton shoes that took my fancy visually...
  13. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I find it wise to keep both options open and to be somewhat unpredictable in stroke deployment. Open the rally with heavy spin and varied pace — and every now and then change rhythm&pace dramatically with a flat hit. (Spin, spin, step in and hit for the kill, ...)
  14. Andro Fi off VS fo off

    Iolino?
  15. Prott.vip does shipping from The Netherlands!

Direct stuff through a tax haven, prominently present in the Panama papers, lead by a conglomerate of borderline neo-liberal fetishists? One would wonder why a corporation would do such a thing.
  16. What is your rubber color choice

I recall Yasaka Tornado too. Good rubber, back in the day; I preferred it over Mark V (although I did deflect to Sriver L at some point after seeing Šurbek speedglue it); a bit snappier, a bit spinnier. This may even be a "natural" rubber colour, undyed; I'm not sure. The green Cobra was...
  17. What is your rubber color choice

As in, black? :-) That being said, a vast horde of people are making easy quips about choosing rubber colour to foil opponents. I don't get this. As an old hand at this, having played before the colour restriction rules were established and after, I am very strongly convinced that visual...
  18. Where can ı learn a rubber hardness?

Well, if you want to really get down to it you might want to buy a durometer. Either Shore A or Asker C will do.
  19. Jean-Michel SAIVE Last League Match

Yes. In truth, there has been a number of GOATs over time, and Jean-Mi Saive has been right up there for a long time. He's remained an inspiration long after his prime, and should be remembered reverently for all the good things he's brought to the sport. A great sportsman takes his leave...
