  1. What blade is this?

I think that is spot on! Your remark made me re-examine my own vintage frame, certainly a Tibor; when I photographed it it still had its label, my son's been playing with it for a while and I removed it inbetween. Wow, thanks!
  2. What blade is this?

An old pongfriend, who I used to train with 40 years ago, gave me his old blade from way back. He thinks it's a Butterfly blade. It is unmarked, except for a "B-5-7" marking, and I think it's a five-ply all-wood blade. Does anybody recognize this?

  6. Timo Boll Interview: About 80% of pro's are using illegal rackets

Whenever in Japan, I do sense things smelling differently too. All things. There's just that little cherry blossom tang. Maybe that's all in my mind. Oh, Fujiyama… Cherry blossoms fall / Cherry blossoms fall and fall / Cherry blossoms fall.
  7. Practice match, tips?

You're the leftie, right? You're an attacker, but seem to prefer dropping back to second position. Your friend Edvin keeps a bit closer to the table. Every now and then you get a bit in trouble when blocking passively, I think that might be less so if you went a bit closer in and took these...
  8. Timo Boll Interview: About 80% of pro's are using illegal rackets

So now we all know that the F in ITTF stands for, LOL. Good one, Carl!
  9. Timo Boll Interview: About 80% of pro's are using illegal rackets

Certainly. So did the ball size increase, the speedglue ban, the game shortening. It's all a matter of choice. Boosting may be today's equivalent or not to yesteryear's speedgluing. I don't know; have done neither, too much hassle at the cost of basic playing fun for me. Yet, IF one really...
  10. Timo Boll Interview: About 80% of pro's are using illegal rackets

What's unfair about LP, SP, Anti? They're predictable, you can prepare/practice against them and more often than not they are used to mitigate your opponent's shortcomings and you can turn things around and use them to your advantage
  11. Timo Boll Interview: About 80% of pro's are using illegal rackets

If the goal would be to create a fair, level playing field then custom mods would be exactly what you wouldn't allow. Grip tape might be allowed or not, but once you modify stuff it becomes different from the approved list items. Hence unapproved. So yes, that would affect the status quo...
  12. Timo Boll Interview: About 80% of pro's are using illegal rackets

There is a simple solution: not letting players use their own equipment at tournaments, instead have them select from LARC, assemble and provide by referee before the match (and collected back after). Just to show that it can be done. This would of course encourage training with vanilla stock...
  13. STIGA Carbonado 245 and 290 blade review

No, I haven't used any of the Carbonados. Yet. I was weaned on the original Offensive blades, and have used the Offensive Carbon (both succeeded a long time ago by the Offensive Classic and Offensive Classic Carbon) for a long time. You're making quite a lot of inter-carbonado comparisons...
  14. Boycott effects: ML, XX and FZD get suspended?

There's a lot of speculation out there, and just that. Rainnever had some insights to share, apparently he to lives in the CNT's broomcloset (or something); but it's been a while since I've read a convincing update. I find it a bit disturbing that most of the talk is about the top-three...
  15. Boycott effects: ML, XX and FZD get suspended?

If he can become Slovakian, he can also become deaf. Not saying he should, of course.
  16. Andro Treiber Z vs Butterfly Innerforce ZLC

I found your review (http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=78700&KW=treiber&PID=986275&title=tt11-equipment-testing-scheme#986275). Nice review!
  17. Watching pros makes you better, and we should watch women players

Tip o'the hat to you, Ba'al, for I now have something to study that had not yet received my attention sufficiently.
  18. Shoulder/neck pain

Take heed to USDCarl's advice here. I understand your symptoms have vanished overnight, but even so… I'm speaking from experience here; my neck's got a herniated disk. It's asymptomatic (more or less) now, but when it was bad it was really, really bad. At the time a lot of well-willing...
  19. Upgrade mark V to Hurricane 3 Neo

Expect to have to adapt to it. My guess would be: yes higher throw, no more lively, no easier to hit through the sponge, yes as long as you manage to stay in control, close the angle a bit more. Then again, you have to adapt and many things change with that. You will need to soft hands and a...
