  1. Table tennis collect

(edit: the images got rotated 90º and 180º upon upload, sorry.)
  2. Table tennis collect

To my surprise some people are very attached emotionally to that cupboard containing a few hundred different 38mm balls. I'll post a picture, but contrary to my expectations it's a keeper. Sorry.
  3. Hi people!

    Soooo… and old-skool defender, then? :-)
  4. Table tennis collect

We actually have a cupboard filled with tray after tray of 38mm balls. It's been donated many years ago to the club by a member, and it just may be time to break clean here and there, now we're renewing our club home. I've asked if we can part with this collection.
  5. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Been arranging for a few things, and carrying them out with a bunch of volunteers at the club: painting walls, fixing the wall flushing, and renewing the floor by a solid beech one. Almost done; and in a few days the body will start forgetting the pain.
  6. Win a Cornilleau Hinotec OFF Blade signed by Can Akkuzu!

Sorry Dan but Can's the man at 11:4.
  7. [Help] Rubbers for Liu Shiwen (blade)

T05/T64 are fine and dandy, but demanding rubbers. Fun stuff if you can master it, frustrating if not. Are you an advanced level player, or a higher intermediate level? If not, you might benefit from something a little less explosive, a little more controlled.
  8. T2 Asia Pacific Table Tennis League 2017!

Aye but ye cewd dew moch wearse, laddie!
  9. Building The Hammer

… and he named it after the late, great Kjell Johansson. Very stylish!
  10. Donic or stiga

There is no "in general". Better is not an absolute, it's a relative. One might be better for flat hits, the other may offer more dwell time and thus grab the ball a bit longer when spinning — i.e. be better for spinning. One may be better in active play, another may be better when playing...
  11. BH flip vs short serves. Going with the spin or against. Does it matter to you?

I think the banana flick doesn't per se override or neutralize the incoming spin, but contact is more often than not pretty much perpendicular to it. To while there may be spin, that will hardly affect your stroke. You will add your own and inherit the existing spin, slightly worn off over...
  12. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Nice, whippy FH. Did you intentionally play with the length of these loops?
  13. Donic or stiga

"It depends". Better… for what? The Ovtcharov Carbospeed is better for hammering in stainless steel nails, the Clipper CC is better for self-tapping screws. Also, the latter is more like Australian wine (very suitable for laying down and avoiding), the former is more of an amuse for a heavy...
  14. Does Ma Long have an old school style?

    We're dissing JO's BH now? :-)
  15. Another Beginner Level Equipment Advice Question

I don't know about the Palio Master 2 premade. Most premades I've seen weren't too usable, and the rubbers are rarely detachable/replacable. So even if the blade is good, it's a throwaway when rubbers wear out. The combos you mention are excellent for starters until well into the higher...
  16. Does Ma Long have an old school style?

Ma Long seems to be able to do pretty much anything to anything (be it animal, vegetable or mineral), but also seems to choose to apply some wisdom in choosing what to do when. Perhaps the all-out attack isn't the end-all, be-all solution to all things pong for him. Sometimes he chooses to be...
  17. The Pro's Equipment - Discussion!

Back in the day Sriver was used overwhelmingly by attackers. Choppers used Tackiness C, Varispin. And Grass.
  18. high throw is the enemy

Never seen anybody use it, even though I've been looking out for it; when I still played T05 I wondered if it would be T05's cousin slanted a bit more towards blocking and direct hits. Still, never seen it; still a bit curious. It's too meagerly available (few stores only) and too expensive to...
  19. T2 Asia Pacific Table Tennis League 2017!

Finished, clearly. He even let Dima have one game. Sad! … not!
