  1. Hurricane Long V series

Except my HL5 seemed not to flex much. Then my w968 flexes much more easily, more vibration. Love the feel
  2. Hurricane Long V series

The problem is W968 is scarce and expensive ! Hell know why I like Ma Long that much😂
  3. Hurricane Long V series

National W968, likely version 1 which can sell for over $1000. My not so good provincial 968 is already wayyyy better than HL5.
  4. Tackiness versus grippiness

Eye opening thank you. I’ve never paid attention to the effects of the table tbh. Our club has the privilege to acquire a few Olympic standard tables for the upcoming Oceania championship. But we don’t get to play it yet [emoji23]
  5. Hurricane Long V series

Sorry for resurrecting this discussion. I think I've found the real answer. Like I said before, I've played the first edition Long 5, newer Long 5 and Long 5X. All of them give muted feel despite soft sponge (39degree prov H3 boosted). I am very sure of the muted feeling because I've played...
  6. Tackiness versus grippiness

The sponge of H3 prov is more lively and has higher QC. Commercial H3 is fine. But in my experience out of 5 commercial H3 you might have 3 different feels. But prov H3 is very consistent
  7. Tackiness versus grippiness

Yes H3, especially boosted one is both tacky and grippy. I am sure most understand what tackiness is. Grippiness generates spin by allowing the ball to sink into the topsheet and sponge. The repulsive force spins the ball. If you have intermediate level of technique, you will generate spin...
  8. Single Ply hinoki blades

Owned a few single ply hinoki, never seen fish scale before.
  9. What is STIGA Cybershape?

I like their daring attempt. But it doesn’t look appealing to me.
  10. Penhold backhand rubber?

Back in the 1990s we used to do that all the time. I miss those times. You could experiment all kinds of combo. We bought tacky top sheets and glued them on Japanese sponge.
  11. How much is the serve advantage?

Definitely not as big as in tennis after all the rule changes. Service in table tennis used to be very deceptive. In modern table tennis, a good service is not good enough to win a point. The server needs to coordinate the tactics after service return.
  12. LF: Used W968 letter

Letter or numerical versions or even the old Long 5 version. Preferably second hand
  13. LF: Used W968 letter

DHS W968 letter version if anyone has one
  14. Hurricane Long V series

    Viscaria. More feedback.
  15. Hurricane Long V series

I used HL5 before because ML just inspired me so much. But I hate the muted feedback.
  16. D09c vs H3Neo vs Rakza Z

    Maybe nationalist mentality?[emoji23][emoji23]
  17. Blade advice

Viscaria, my current blade. Donic ovtcharov true carbon is 0.4mm thinner than Vis. Better feel, better spin but slightly slower away from table. I played it in the past and it pairs well with most rubbers. The latest Victas ZX blades received very positive reviews in China. I’ve not played...
  18. D09c vs H3Neo vs Rakza Z

Top level females team have very strong legs and great techniques. Chinese National women’s team played US men’s team before. You can tell they can bottom out any H3.
  19. Hurricane Long V series

I am playing with Viscaria and it’s very linear. It must suit all levels of players that’s why Viscaria has been a legacy since 2012.
  20. Hurricane Long V series

I just check the prices on TT11: Viscaria €133 HL5 €125 Viscaria is actually more expensive
