  1. How Does Boosting Rubber Affect The Throw Angle?

Every EJ deserves a science experiment doesn’t he? Mind your own business
  2. Hurricane Long V series

We all know that Ma Long has broken quite a few records in history: First double Grand Slams Won every single Gold possible Etc I wonder why the HL V series blades aren’t popular compared to Vis variants?
  3. Penhold backhand rubber?

There are many low weight rubber for your RPB: 729 Aurora Nittaku Fastarc S-1 Tibhar Aurus select Tibhar Nimbus Tibhar K1 (semi tacky) Donic Barracuda Donic F1 The list can go on
  4. How Does Boosting Rubber Affect The Throw Angle?

Boosting a 1.8mm sponge might be risky. You might end up with a super soft sponge that bottoms out with a gentle hit. It will mean that the throw angle will depend on the type of blade you are using.
  5. Switching from Penhold to Shakehand - Advice Needed

I agree. For us club players, it’s the fun and social elements that draw us together. I still play my thick 10.5mm kiso hinoki Jpen sometimes because I just miss the feel anf fun of it. And it’s ok if I had to lose a game or two. But if you are tournament-oriented, stick to SH. Don’t go back
  6. D09c vs H3Neo vs Rakza Z

Top gear power and spin is one thing, the ability to manoeuvre angle, trajectory, spin and pace is definitely a superior property of H3. If you look at the recent ML, he won a lot of games not due to power, but due to his rapidly changing pace, placement, spin and power. He won with...
  7. D09c vs H3Neo vs Rakza Z

Idk. I guess most coaches who started in the 1980s didn’t used H3? So coaches influenced the students?
  8. D09c vs H3Neo vs Rakza Z

From TT11. My speculation is that they used the same durometer to measure the hardness.
  9. Best rubbers to block (Waldner Legend Carbon Blade)

You like blocking and flat hit. So you need a BH rubber that's not sensitive to incoming spin. Many short pip or older generation inverted (e.g. R7, Aurus, Thunderball 2 etc) will do.
  10. Switching from Penhold to Shakehand - Advice Needed

I was in the same boat. It depends on your penhold playing style. Do you play just TPB? Exclusive RPB? Or a mixture of TPB and RPB? For me I played exclusive RPB, so switching to shakehand wasn't too difficult. My FH actually improved in consistency by surprise. My BH came naturally tbh...
  11. D09c vs H3Neo vs Rakza Z

If you put 09C, T05 and H3 in the same hardness scale: H3 - 63 09C - 54 T05 - 44 (by extrapolation) As you can see H3 has the most power reservoir among them. Despite the tackiness (in fact new H3 aren't as tacky as before), if you have the right technique and physiques, if you can bottom out...
  12. D09c vs H3Neo vs Rakza Z

I always wonder that too. In the old days we used to be able to buy the topsheet and sponge separately. We could experiment all kinds of combinations!!
  13. Are there different versions of Hurricane 3 Neo?

It comes in 35 and 37 degree. Not that fast but enough for BH.
  14. A Comprehensive List of Famous Blade Clones

Sorry I haven’t played either one. BO2X has better value for money. It’s also highly rated in China.
  15. Are there different versions of Hurricane 3 Neo?

Mine does have pink/red sponge. The top sheet is less tacky, at least that’s what I got.
  16. A Comprehensive List of Famous Blade Clones

DHS BO2X same construction as Long V. DHS H301 or H301X. Same construction as Long V except the top ply is koto.
  17. Are there different versions of Hurricane 3 Neo?

The H3 with a pink sponge is likely H3-50. The #50 sponge is softer and more lively. Most H3 needs a “break in” period. You just need to keep hitting it until the sponge is woken up. Or people like me put 3 layers of booster oil to the sponge and it played like a charm. H3 is a complex...
  18. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

Yes RPB needs to be executed with versatility, unpredictability and consistency. In the recent super league we can see predictable, or rigid use of RPB. Xu Haidong and Zhao Zhihao, their RPB are probably on par with SH in terms of power and consistency. Yet they lack the versatility and...
  19. Should I switch to penhold

I still play jpen for fun. It’s such a beautiful style
  20. Return backspin

When my opponent gives me a topspin I can chop back with a very heavy backspin. That's not a problem. The problem is when my opponent gives me a backspin.
