  1. The "old" blades - still a valid option or not

Probably because I am biased. My point is that old blades give you great feel due to age and better handcrafting in the old days. Speed is never an issue even using an ALL blade as long as you know how to swing properly.
  2. Japan Open 2019

I really hope Xu Xin's tactics and RPB will reach a new height next year. I know it is silly to say but I really hope Xu Xin can take out the Olympic men's single gold once and for all.
  3. Japan Open 2019

Talking about FZD, I had a feeling he has elbow injury? Otherwise he wouldn't have made quite a few unforced FH errors
  4. The "old" blades - still a valid option or not

TBH my vintage Stiga Hans Asler OC plays more solid than Stiga Eternity NCT. I can loop from mid distance with no issue. Other old blades I have include a 10-year-old Darker Speed 90 and old-tag Butterfly Primorac. They all play better than newer blades. In general, older blades give you a...
  5. Help with RPB Equipment

Hi Sagakichi, I have played penhold for a number of years. FXP is a medium heavy rubber. Hurricane 3 is quite heavy. Rosewood NCT is not light. So I am not surprised you find your setup heavy! It surely affects the stability and recovery of RPB unless you have long and strong arms. Having said...
  6. Japan Open 2019

OMG who's thrilled to see Xu Xin taking out the Platinum Japan Open Men's single championship?
  7. Japan Open 2019

I was shocked twice: Xu Xin vs FZD - i thought FZD would win 4-2 or 4-1 like usual. Man I was shocked!! When was the last time XX won against FZD? 2015 I think? Xu Xin vs Lin Yun-Ju - Lin Yun-Ju resembles a style stimilar to LGY's. This style is a natural killer of penholders. I thought Xu Xin...
  8. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

These days it is all about rally right? As long as you can put the ball on the table, you win.
  9. ITTF 2019 Hong Kong Open June 4-9

Simon is in good form. But Wang Chuqin's power and speed might be too much for him.
  10. ITTF 2019 Hong Kong Open June 4-9

    Men's quarter final. Live on table 1, 2 and 4. Why not stream table 3?? WTF ITTF . . . .
  11. Japan Open 2019

Being in the homeland would give Harimoto an extra boost. Harimoto might beat a few CNT players before meeting Ma Long in the Final.
  12. Ma Long serve analysis vs Tomokazu Harimoto

Yes agree totally. Ma Long's placement is extreme. He alters his power to put the ball shorter or longer. He often aims for the white lines on the side. Fan Zhengdong still lacks the skills in this area.
  13. Nittaku Hurricane Pro 3 Turbo Blue

43 hardness is not for amateurs. I wonder if it is made hard for boosting??
  14. Hello from Czech Republic

    Welcome to the forum!!
  15. Just curious how many Penholders are on TTD?

I can imagine Tam Sifu must play like He Zhiwen!! A great loss for sure.
  16. Glue alternative

It's not that expensive. https://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/racquet-sports/table-tennis/listing-2060989454.htm?rsqid=23b92022f5fe4f14adb94ba46edc59bc-001 Donic Vario Clean 37mL. I bought this off Trade Me and have glued at least 6 sheets of rubbers. Probably only a quarter down. $18+4 = $22...
