  1. USTTA rating v.s. expected win-rate

Yes. How can it be, that I truly honestly consider their posts as useful for me? How can that be, that regardless whether they are right or wrong in the things you point out, they really were useful for me? Well, it is simply because we, you and I, focus on different things.
  2. USTTA rating v.s. expected win-rate

What you did was great. I was just at the moment really completely dim to come up with ideas how you want to relate the level and the ratings/rules. For me the ratings do reflect the level. And OldUser gave me that way - compare the expected win-rate with the real win-rate. The real win-rate is...
  3. USTTA rating v.s. expected win-rate

Looks fine to me too. The range is <0.5, 1>. Maybe <50, 100> was expected? Just multiply by 100 then... Anyway, having equation for the approximation of the red-dotted line is an extra plus. Not a point of the discussion...
  4. USTTA rating v.s. expected win-rate

Thanks hclnnkhg. I like it. I understand the derivation of the expected win-rate from the USATT rules, but I don't understand the quoted sentences above. What do you mean by the words "skill levels" and "level" there? Do you mean real player's level? Please explain, how does it help you to...
  5. Battle 3 now available on Aliexpress

Oh, that sounds good given the price. I am tempted... Pitty that B3 is not in H41.
  6. Battle 3 now available on Aliexpress

Hey Igor, nor hard sponge nor heavy boosting is intended to make us a real speedster!!! ;-) Hard sponge is so that we don't feel like wasting energy. Boosting is to increase tension, perhaps make a bit more lively.
  7. Protection sheet for Dignics 09c

I'm using a foam too - car glass foam. Apply a bit, clean, but not let dry. Put/spray water and wipe all out.
  8. Protection sheet for Dignics 09c

I've used that too for some time but then I bent it too much accidentaly, and it doesn't return to orig. flat state. So I'm using the regular protection sheet, which is always the same and every company has one. Actually I received couple of those sheets just added a a gift to the rubbers bought...

Hey old master lodro, what is the hardness of RXTON 5? And what is the hardest tacky or semi-tacky Loki rubber?
  10. Technique advice for me

I like this video, better than the "new-found" mine above. Thanks.
  11. Technique advice for me

I like that dingyibvs gets really low and stands wide. Carl, I agree what you say about the base technique. But I think what dingyibvs does on the video is full power loop kill. More like what ML does at the start of that video (I didn't quickly find better one). So ends up fully rotated. I...
  12. Are you a TT-pro ?

Which is why you started the thread in the first place :-) Or should we think, that there would be 3 posts containing single word YES, and then the last post from you saying: OK?
  13. Why do I get so nervous when playing a match?

In one of my last matches the opponent was roaring. It was 1st match, it was Sunday morning, I was not in the temperature yet. I was losing. My mate told me, roar too. I remember clearly this moment. It helped me. Although probably not that much because I was then roaring more than before, I was...
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Understand. Sometimes I do that, e.g. drill with 3 balls, the robot plays: 1. short back-spin serve to FH 2. long push to FH (to force me to jump back) 3. top-spin ball to FH I usually play this with 60/min speed. Here I miss the option to set variable delay between balls - I'd prefer the delay...

Who do you bet on? I bet on QD. When in doubt, always bet on Quantum Dynamics...
  16. Developing player with some potential :)

Very good point about 25mm table, imo. I regret having 19mm table, it is slower. Not that bad for hitting, but bad for serve training. In retrospect, I'd go for 22mm at least.
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Do you plan to include drills with back-spin balls? From your description it is not clear. I'd vouch for variability, i.e. having drill with back-spin too.
  18. Developing player with some potential :)

If you play 6 months, I think it is pretty impressive. Keep up. I like that you play relaxed, you don't rush, there is almost some calmness :- ) and fluidity. I think you will progress a lot. Following is my interpretation, take it with a grain of salt. You know my approx. level. I'm not a...
  19. Rich highlights, match and training videos

Yeah, beautiful rallies... Really dream training, you also have a good hall, a lot of place. At the end it seemed to me, Antonis was more tired, and a bit more passive. Is it usually so, or sometimes he's the more active one?
  20. Rich highlights, match and training videos

Did Antonis play tennis earlier, or is it just my imagination? :-)
