It could be because of a bad batch. But it is much more likely that with some rubbers the ball can fall into the net, not quite slippage as dead rubbers do. You'll notice it the most on forehand topspins that drop below the net. The earlier you take the ball the less you notice this happening...

if you are worried about control stick with GA5. On ur profile it says Fang Bo b2x which isn't a speed monster. I'd say if you are confident, change rubbers.

GA8 is faster, more grip and less control.
