  1. The April 18 ITTF Rankings still seem a fraud to me. When will they be accurate?

Yes. At the very least, any list that doesn't have Calderano in the top 5 is fraudulent.
  2. The April 18 ITTF Rankings still seem a fraud to me. When will they be accurate?

Nah, that would have been truly fraudulent. I think Quadri Aruna is clearly the best player in the world, why is he so low on the rankings?
  3. An insane save!

He didn't win the point - you need that for immortality.
  4. Double serve like in tennis

This is true for most things in life though. Sports, business, working in a company etc. Hard to find anything where there isn't a significant gap between the very best and those that follow. Almost like life is a pyramid scheme...
  5. Timo Boll vs TableTennisDaily's Dan | 1 set showdown!

I said this on another forum and the response I got, you would have thought Timo's forehand push was a piece of trash.
  6. Double serve like in tennis

MY only objection is that it will make the game longer - I actually like the idea lot - the first let should also count as a first serve regardless of whether it is a fault or not.
  7. Why is European Top 16 Cup included in ITTF ranking but not The China Super League?

Why aren't you similarly concerned with soccer or tennis or the NBA? Germany and Brazil could field multiple national teams in the World Cup if permitted.
  8. Why is European Top 16 Cup included in ITTF ranking but not The China Super League?

Continental qualifiers for the World Cup are ranked/rated by the ITTF. The Europe top 16 is this kind of tournament as is the Asian Cup, African Cup or North American Cup. National leagues are not. Examples are the Bundesliga, French league, Chinese super league etc.
  9. German Open 2018

The new ball is very hard to get moving so both players are still figuring out their optimal strategies. But even more importantly, they had a match to play in an hour or so after the final as a team. Knowing them, they probably agreed to just play their best but not to the death and save...
  10. Xiom Omega VII Asia, Vega Tour and Vega DEF available...

It's really annoying to me when people speak in terms of forehand and backhand rubbers rather than understanding what their specific technique on the forehand or backhand requires.
  11. German Open 2018

Bobrow doesn't read the schedule. The men singles final should be now.
  12. German Open 2018

No this was when he was younger as well. The speculation was that he was always injured and that this limited his practice. But the other viewpoint was that he just didn't enjoy training.
  13. German Open 2018

I know why - Xu Xin just looks more like himself than Ma Long did in the whole match.
  14. German Open 2018

Personally I like the strides the players are making to get closer to China. Cheng I Ching, Kasumi Ishikawa and Seo Hyowon are making genuine improvements. Yes they are still behind the core CNT but good things are happening. Maybe China wasn't so paranoid after all when it banned foreigners...
  15. German Open 2018

Boll is notorious for not liking to train and for mostly training by playing or simulating matches. So I don't think he should be fully taken as representative. That said, his POV is still important.
  16. German Open 2018

Yes, he called his timeout to calm his player down not give them tactics. And his player was usually the worse player in the matchup. Neither of the above was true most of the time. That is my point.
  17. German Open 2018

Yes, we did. It's similar to a debate over whether Liu Guoliang made the CNT great or something else is fundamentally at work.
  18. German Open 2018

You may be 100% right and yours is the traditional thinking. But there were times in NBA matches that Phil Jackson would let his team play through tough times where the traditional thinking was that a timeout is needed. Sometimes, it is just about knowing your player and when you think...
  19. German Open 2018

Timo is an experienced player being managed by an experienced coach (Rosskopf). You don't think they have an agreement about how to handle these things?
