  1. BTY ALC Blade Differences IMO: Share your thoughts!

which Xiom blades did you have? because I've been tempted by Viscaria or FZD ALC, they are basically the same, but as you said, FZD is supposed to have better balance and I do play with heavy rubbers (FH is usually ESN50deg+ lately), but am just afraid it would simply be too fast ... currently...
  2. Which setup should I invest more time in?

spare blade is always welcome, especially if you are competing. if a rubber gets damaged, you can just swap the blades. it won’t be exactly the same, but should play pretty similar.
  3. What's the best Butterfly off wood blade?

wait, 3 pages of “best Butterfly wood blade” and nobody mentioned THE blade? the one and only. the legend. Butterfly Jonyer-Hinoki name a better Butterfly all-wood blade. oh … yeah … YOU CAN’T! 🤪
  4. Any news and info on Zhang Jike's New donic bluegrip j line?

yes, true. but - is your footwork good enough? because with every step further from the table, your footwork is under more pressure. more steps, more distance to be covered, but yes, you do gain a little bit of time.
  5. Any news and info on Zhang Jike's New donic bluegrip j line?

I really don’t get it - he doesn’t allow you to play either J-series, but lets you play with A1? A1 is definitely one of the fastest rubbers, I really doubt that any tacky rubber is faster than A1 … because the tack alone slows it down. haven’t played with Z52.5 yet, but I guess it isn’t the...
  6. "This rubber is not correct!"

because you are the last one with the video ... I can play against long pips blindfolded (short pips are a bit different story), thanks to my father, he taught me how to play against them, the defenders, blockers ... to me, it is a cat and mouse play and I enjoy it very much. also in the club...
  7. "This rubber is not correct!"

I was there it was pretty much the whole match, as Pistej is almost as old as me and I know him from my competing days. but yeah, Levenko was pushing hard in this match, couldn't hear the provocations from Pistej's part, but there was something going on after that bump ... I think Pistej was...
  8. Rumour new Butterfly flagship rubber

I just went to check - when Harimotor and many other Japanese top players (Miwa, Shunsuke, Sora) were competing in Ljubljana in June this year, I noticed that they had Dignics rubbers, but the FH sponge was more violet color. as far as I know, all four Dignics variants have red sponge? well...
  9. Rumour new Butterfly flagship rubber

in our country we called this ball "skokica" (jumpy) and I doubt it has anything to do with modern table tennis tensor rubber ... that was just a round lump of bouncy rubber ... even the materials are different.
  10. Ranking system levels in different countries

so, if I was a vice-national champion as a youth player ... what rating am I now? :p
  11. Oil absorbed unevenly

maybe it's baby oil? had the same problem with Hurricane 8 it looked very uneven, and I spread the oil very very uniformly and it was a completely flat rubber at the time. parts of rubber absorbed it very fast, but parts of rubber still had some marks of oil on it ...
  12. Which setup should I invest more time in?

if it is too fast, then yes. I mean, beginners always start with ALL+ blades usually. I started with Butterfly Gruba ALL+ blade. so you learn to create your own power and spin ... but I doubt ALXi is too fast, it is quite a controlled blade. do you have a feeling that the ball is running away...
  13. Lightest and most sticky hard hibrid rubber ?

I saw you have the "pro" blade head size - 160x152 ... China Guang and C55 were cut on my Xiom AJH TMXi which has cca. 159x152 head, so maybe here is the difference. but - both Yasakas and H3N national were cut on Xiom Hugo ALX Pro and AZXi with 160x152 head size so these numbers are relevant.
  14. Xiom new collection (2024)

any verdict on C52.5 durability? had C55 and it looked quite terrible after a good week, but tore the top-sheet during second week of usage and it wasn't usable after that ... if I look at other sticky/tacky products by Xiom, durability is quite an issue, unfortunately. played with China Guang...
  15. Lightest and most sticky hard hibrid rubber ?

Yasaka Rising Dragon - a tad bit stickier than Rakza Z, 45g cut to 160x152 (Hugo ALX Pro), but slower - I don't find Rakza Z slow at all, but Rising Dragon is a bit slower, still, I find it similar to Dignics09c. Rakza Z really isn't slow as I do not dare to boost it in order to make it bigger...
  16. HTech instrument to detect boosters.

I believe it reacts quite well to Adobe Booster ...
  17. ITTF and FIT joined forces to ensure fair play.

maybe he is just trying really hard to get some sort of Donic sponsporship. almost there, just needs to practice with Photoshop just a tad bit more ... sadly, he always uses one image for his "posts" ...
  18. ITTF and FIT joined forces to ensure fair play.

yes, but what you wrote in opening post has nothing to do with link. first post is basically a science fiction, as for the link - well, it talks about sustainability, not Donic preventing boosting and how they will do it ...
  19. Which setup should I invest more time in?

the Xiom setup ... maybe go also one step back with rubber ... back to Rakza Z ... more forgiving, less demanding.
  20. Them hinoki 3+2 blades

go for something with inner carbon placement. inner blades tend to have more of a wooden feeling than outer. I did recommend Hugo ALX, but Korbel being all-wood blade, it wouldn’t be so close in feeling. but it’s still a great blade. I have TMXi adn AZXi and both play like a wooden blade in...
