  1. Short and Medium pimple sponge thickness?

It is on all shots, apart from blocks maybe. Definitely worse on hits and my infamous dodgy pseudo loop!
  2. Advice on BH technique?

This video is very interesting!! The point about using the top of the blade with short pips might go some way to explain why most SP players prefer stiff carbon or 7 ply blades. You want that stability, you obviously get more flex especially at the top of the blade with 5 ply looping blades...
  3. Advice on BH technique?

A bit more video evidence, Video really does not do one justice, the shots often felt much quicker than they look in the video.

As a fat flat footed 50 year old man, trying to mimic Mima Ito is something of a challenge!! Head in the clouds. Ha ha.
  5. Advice on BH technique?

That grip is 40 years of bad habit, almost impossible to stop doing it. I think the best I can hope for is too try and loosen it a little. And improve the forearm.
  6. Advice on BH technique?

Cheers Lula, think your right about the soft blocking and variation, a player I know said this try and get some easy balls with soft blocks and chop blocks etc, side swipes a bit like lp shots for variation and easy pop ups!!

    BH in actual game play!!
  8. Short and Medium pimple sponge thickness?

I use Spinlord Keiler in 1.8mm on backhand, they are mid pimples I believe. I have tried Spectol Red before. My preferred ball for use if I had a choice would be the Joola Flash (poly plastic not ABS). Personally I believe it spins much more than any ABS ball I have tried, I also think it is...
  9. Tenergy 05fx on forehand

05fx is very very blade dependant. On soft blades it can be very mushy, especially in Max. On a softer blade it is better to use it in 1.9 On stiffer 7 ply wood or Carbon blades particularly with low throw in Max it is excellent for spinning the ball, and driving!! This is based on me trying...

  11. How to preserve tackyness?

i use the paper that rubbers come with cut to size of blade and a freezer food bag, works very well. recently i have started leaving my bat out in the open air in a shady part of the house to allow moisture from humidity to leave the rubbers. humidity kills rubbers the most IMO

I am a bit like this in life, I am settled in my ways. I do not like change!! But I want to win more at TT, so I will change and improve my bh. In several years I will post a video of my awesome bh shots and we will all laugh about my stubbornness!! Or maybe no one will give a shit! I am...

  17. Advice on BH technique?

Cool, yes i will watch the videos again!! But you know if i play the bh 'loop' you all say I play with inverted the ball goes about 3 miles off the end. What I actually do is some Frankenstein shot that is a hybrid of a reversed type loop and a pip shot. But I go forward more than you guys think.
  18. Advice on BH technique?

Which one was YANGYANG? I watched so many of them?
  19. Advice on BH technique?

Yes my footwork is bad, terrible in fact. But I am working on it!! You are all seeing my bh going from down to up, but I still go forward on it even in this vid, it would look better from side, still needs work but it ain't as bad as some of you say. in this video i was using a carbon bat too...
