  1. Which rubbers are really good at lifting underspin?

I apologize - a sock puppet would never make such a personal post.
  2. How did you decide Chinese versus Tensor rubber on FH?

Spin is easier and better with Euro rubber than Chinese rubber and softer topsheet/sponge than harder topsheet/sponge. But maximum spin ability of harder topsheet/sponge is higher. Tackiness reduces the spin but it makes it easier to trap power shots so you can loop with power all the time if...
  3. How did you decide Chinese versus Tensor rubber on FH?

Not necessarily true and probably not true for you either. You will find that level and style are not the same thing. Stronger swings are not the only thing that determine playing level. I would prefer Vega Pro to Rhyzm as well and it is not about my playing level. Some people prefer...
  4. My version of Ma long serve

Let's just say that whatever the flaws in your serve, the practical results are outstanding and you have a talent for this. What I can't tell though is how significantly you are varying either the spin or the amount. But I can't read spin either...
  5. How did you decide Chinese versus Tensor rubber on FH?

Rhyzm is a good high control spinny rubber but unless you use other rubbers or boost, you may not appreciate how hard it is to spin with it vs tensors with softer topsheets.

  7. Advice on Shakehand Blade

To be fair to ProPetrov, there are different schools of thought on this. But as others have wisely pointed out, and your point strongly supports this, if he is as good as he says, he should be getting this advice from those he plays around.
  8. Which rubbers are really good at lifting underspin?

A chopper used MX-S once and took off his rubber at the time (T64 - he didn't like T05 because it didn't fit his blocking game) immediately. When he was asked why, he said, "I have never seen anything attack backspin AND block as well as this."
  9. Which rubbers are really good at lifting underspin?

I can't believe anyone would list Airoc as a good backspin lifting rubber unless they were a Stiga sock puppet.
  10. Which rubbers are really good at lifting underspin?

I listed three rubbers! Add in maybe Adidas P7 as well.
  11. Advice on Shakehand Blade

Videotape is always the best solution.
  12. Which rubbers are really good at lifting underspin?

Like all good teachers, I speak in terms people understand. It is more important for me in life to be helpful to someone than to communicate with scientific precision. Since that answer has been given to you by other smart people as well, I hope you will one day appreciate it. I have seen...
  13. Which rubbers are really good at lifting underspin?

Look for rubbers without catapult or with relatively hard sponges if you want to powerloop the backspin ball. The point is that underspin is usually looped with a more vertical stroke so catapult make the loop harder to calibrate. So rubbers like Evolution MX-S, Baracuda, H3 etc. tend to work...
  14. Need more spin after the plastic ball!

    Stiga sock puppets again...
  15. Advice on Shakehand Blade

Only video tape can tell. Keeping the ball on the table isn't everything and even world class players are sometimes guilty of using blades that are too fast. Some people make it a pride thing but it really isn't - it is about what is best for your understanding of the game. Learning to rally...
  16. Advice on Shakehand Blade

If you have only been playing 4 months, the blades you are using are too fast.
  17. Advice on my strokes?

Once you accept missing as well as experience, practice and time as part of the learning curve, relaxation comes naturally. Just focus on using proper technique, relax and let the rest follow. After periods of heavy practice, always de-stress your technique by looking for sources of tension...
  18. The noble art of slowing things down

It always depends on what you are trying to do. T05 requires more active blocking and looping game than T64. The reward is that if you are more active, you have more spin to control the ball with. But not everyone likes that pressure of having to be more active. So you make your choice -...
  19. The noble art of slowing things down

I would probably play better with an even more control setup and a change in playing style. Not in the mood to try. Cos I love putting heavy topspin on the ball...
  20. Bh blade + rubber

Good point - that might fix it.
