  1. Bh rubber replacement

Exactly. In general, spin sensitive rubbers are very good if you read spin well and have an active spin manipulation game because you can overpower and borrow spin much more easily with such rubbers. However, they hurt if you have a passive game and are dealing with heavy spin because the...
  2. Bh rubber replacement

Rhyzm has a couple of softer sponges (375 and 425) that are just as good in terms of control, but slower. I personally would recommend he try Hexer, which is similar to Baracuda, but less spin sensitive.
  3. Dealing with pressure.

I think that the ideal is to approach every point with the same relaxed but competent intensity. IF your goal is always to approach the point and win it, then pressure becomes largely moot as your goal and mental state should be relatively similar from point to point. At the beginning of a...
  4. New Ma Long backhand rubber 2015

I think for pros, that makes sense but I have seen amateurs use Hurricane 3 Neo on the backhand and other than paddle weight, they endured it pretty well. Since I use Big Dipper in 38 deg (Chinese scale) sponge, I sometimes wonder about how strict the recommendation against hard sponges on the...
  5. New Ma Long backhand rubber 2015

This is not as "certain" as it might seem.
  6. Help choosing a custom racket

At this point, will warning you make any difference? It's time to just enjoy the blade and play. The game is fun no matter what you use to play it. However, playing to win against better players, if one ever aspires to it, requires a different level of focus and meticulousness from playing for...
  7. New Ma Long backhand rubber 2015

I switched to tacky rubber on the backhand as well after the plastic ball came out and I can see why Ma Long made the choice if true. The new ball is harder to grip with just grippy rubber. But it is still possible to get good spin with any rubber.
  8. Help choosing a custom racket

That's a fine racket. I wouldn't let water touch that thing unless I was using distilled water. :p
  9. Who has the world's best backhand?

Historically, too many great backhands. For me, when dealing with questions like this, the BHs of interest tend to be those from players who pretty much overuse it. Two that come to mind are Karakasevic and Henzell. But surely, there must be others.
  10. Who has the world's best backhand?

The topic that never dies. ZJK, FZD, DO. All other backhands are deficient in some way.
  11. China Trials For WTTC 2015 - Final Stage

In 2011, countries were allowed 7 players (Wang Liqin beat Xu Xin one round prior to what UpSideDownCarl wrote). So it should be six singles players as China is the host but the problem is that politics (or coach's decisions to put it more euphemistically) have often affected team selections...
  12. Samsonov Force Pro

5 out of 5 rating for Samsonov Force Pro A 7 ply limba ayous special with good control. The handle is very comfortable - rumor has it that the handle design copies that of a blade that Samsonov really liked. The blade is not as fast as some thicker 7 ply blades, but it is definitely an...

A 7 ply limba ayous special with good control. The handle is very comfortable - rumor has it that the handle design copies that of a blade that Samsonov really liked. The blade is not as fast as some thicker 7 ply blades, but it is definitely an offensive blade. The straight (ST) handle feels...
  14. China Trials For WTTC 2015 - Final Stage

Liu Guoliang also liked her 2014 WTTTC trials performance, after which she was still benched for the youngsters after beating them and Ding Ning but losing to Liu Shiwen. She is going to make it to the WTTTC this year.
  15. Appelgren Exclusive All

5 out of 5 rating for Appelgren Exclusive The blade is as described - heavier weights play slightly faster, but this is still a relatively slow blade for the relatively close to the table player or the control looper with a spin over speed focus away from the table. The straight handle is...

Review by 'NextLevel' on item 'Appelgren Exclusive'

The blade is as described - heavier weights play slightly faster, but this is still a relatively slow blade for the relatively close to the table player or the control looper with a spin over speed focus away from the table. The straight handle is quite large for people who like that. The pair...
  17. What is the best alternative for Tenergy 05?

Yes, that is the part that needs work (hitting/blocking). The spin and control on topspin is the similarity. I find now that I have more control with it than with Tenergy 05, but it didn't start out that way as I had to get more active in my blocks.
  18. China Trials For WTTC 2015 - Final Stage

I think 26. That's why she had to win her way in - same for Feng Yalan who is 25.
  19. China Trials For WTTC 2015 - Final Stage

I am really happy for her - this time, she won her way in as she had to.
  20. China Trials For WTTC 2015 - Final Stage

Ding Ning wins, Xu Xin - Ma Long about to start.
