Oh ye of little faith haha. Don't worry I have them sorting out the homepage banner at the top for Liam to live rent-free at for a little while :)

A lot to do with it yes :P

Got a fun one for tomorrow ;)

The sponge hardness is 47.5 degree for both, but Tronix has a thicker sponge as the topsheet is thinned slightly. It definitely feels spongier than Dynaryz ACC and has large pores so absorbs the ball more. I would say the Dynaryz sponge is more reactive, so overall I think Dynaryz has a couple...

A new episode of Talkin' Smash with Thiago Monteiro. We spoke about whether players sometimes focus on prioritizing too much in certain areas of table tennis, or approach them with the wrong mentality, in order to try and improve their game.

I believe the formula composition of the topsheet and sponge are not the same between both rubbers. Even though they have the same 'technologies' they are in fact not the same chemical formulas. This is what I learned as I tried to figure it out more myself haha

Episode 14 of Talkin Smash is out. A great podcast with MLTT Founder and Commissioner Flint Lane. We talked about America's first professional table tennis league, Major League Table Tennis. It was a perfect time to reflect on Season 1 and chat about what is coming in Season 2 and in the future...

That's an old location from many, many years ago I think it was also a table tennis club called Club JOOLA. Pre-dates me my a long shot. But yea, not to worry JOOLA is alive and well :P

Honestly there isn't really an alternative to Golden Tango. I'm personally interested in re-launching the golden tango style of rubber which is a bit tackier on the topsheet. I used that rubber for quite a while. The Tronix ZGR is probably the *closest* alternative, but it's definitely not the...

I'm not sure I haven't asked them, the players in Europe are managed by JOOLA Germany so they are the main point of contact. Honestly I think for pro players the harder sponge does make more sense with that type of topsheet especially with the plastic ball.

Tronix ZGR is a rebrand of Rhyzen ZGR yes, the Rhyzen series is typically a third tier rubber series for developing players and they felt that Rhyzen ZGR was a rubber that didn't belong in that series so it was elevated up. It seems a few more JOOLA players have begun to favour Tronix ZGR on the...

Slowed down a bit but i'm still here! :D This podcast with Matilda Ekholm is focused on the challenges she faced in her career after qualifying for both Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Olympic Games - but having her nomination denied by the Swedish Olympic Committee. Matilda qualified for four...

I had another great podcast with The almighty Founder :P we as usual never shy away from the topic at hand! Had a great and lengthy podcast on what is holding table tennis back when it comes to having recognizable athletes in the mainstream and marketing personalities for the promotion of...

I can relate to this a lot. I have autoimmune issues and typically was out for 3 months each year for many of the years in the last decade. It was very hard to put in a lot of effort to kind of get back to where I started, every time I came back to train again it took a lot of time and effort to...

It might feel a little soft, be interesting to see your feedback on it :)

Athletes Commission is an uphill struggle regardless of how opinionated or pissed off you get. Take it from someone who was opinionated and pissed off for four years on it 😂 Needs to be an independent players union which has a range of leverage all the way to mass player boycotts for events in...

I think it’s a far stretch to say it affected his mentality, he may have lost that match regardless, or maybe even played worse. It’s impossible to draw conclusions based on things like that without knowing the inside of his headspace. If there was no big newspaper articles on the two events...

Episode 11 with Vitor Ishiy is out. We talked about handling pressure in matches and competition! You can also listen on Spotify: and Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/talkin-smash-powered-by-joola-ep11-the-difficult-task/id1706374396?i=1000651928346

They could just do best of 5 where player wins 3 points for 3-0, 2 points for 3-1 and 1 point for 3-2 or something. The idea of a match ending in a draw is just silly to me.

So how do you feel about the ridiculous group stage matches? 4 games. Yes. A match can end in a 2-2 draw. Have you ever seen in any racket sport a match end in a draw. I can’t even comprehend the thought that this might be a good idea, and to try it for the world cup? It’s basically being used...
