  1. Why isn't player ranked?

I'm aware of that, that's why I wrote 'major' events. I didn't know Chinese association would still allow him to play. Usually when you go to play in a foreign country you have to apply to the national team to be 'released', I assumed that's what he would have done.
  2. Difference between a 2100 and a professional?

Couldn't agree more, absolutely great guy. Couldn't leave that one hanging though :P
  3. Why isn't player ranked?

It's simple. He cannot represent China any more and having forseen this likelyhood, as many Chinese players do, he would have left overseas to take up a league contract. ITTF rules state that the stand down periods for representing a country in major ittf events are as follows: Under 15 player...
  4. Difference between a 2100 and a professional?

erm, Wally Green ain't 2500 lol
  5. MHTT Video Blog

Just a short entry today, I was only able to slip in an hour of training as I had a busy morning. Now I'm off to the gym late at night! :D #norestforthewicked
  6. All my skill, GONE!

Couple of weeks it will start to come back. I had an autoimmune relapse after World Champs and my form absolutely plummeted in about 6 weeks during my recovery. It's been 2 months since I got sick and I've started training again and i'm keeping a daily video diary which I started 4 days ago...
  7. DISCUSSION: Will ITTF switch back to celluloid balls if plastic balls failed?

Well I was at the world champs and I was thoroughly bored watching a lot of matches. The quality of the best rallies may be higher but on average I feel like the quality of most matches has declined. I feel like there are more errors with the plastic ball still even after 2 years.
  8. Coaching code of ethics

I would choose number 3. As always in the USA the parents will make whatever decision they think is right for their kid, regardless of what your opinion is and whether or not you are doing a good job with their kid. How would I feel? By now...I would just accept it.
  9. MHTT Video Blog

Thanks buddy. I'll be getting more analytical on my actual blog to accompany the videos. I didn't want to do too much voiceover like in the first video so I feel it's better for me to write more with them in posts :)
  10. Coaching code of ethics

That's a good point. In New Zealand we have regional associations and players represent their region. Each main region has a purpose built table tennis stadium. When I coached in New Zealand I never coached against other players from my region. If the players both agreed before the match to have...
  11. Coaching code of ethics

Here's my ten cents. Personally I won't coach players from my own club against each other, even if they aren't my students. It's just a moral rule that some coaches have and others don't. I think if a player is playing another player from their club then they should bring up the issue of coaches...
  12. MHTT Video Blog

After a break on Sunday I am back at it on Monday. Long live the routine! :D
  13. Need experience players to analyse on my serves.

I would suggest taking another video with the camera only just past the end of the table, this is a little too far away :)
  14. MHTT Video Blog

I think the hardest thing about it to keep up is making the videos haha! Here is day #3. I have tomorrow as a rest day so there won't be another video until the day after :) Hope you guys are enjoying these. I really do have a horribly long way to go just to recover my form > . <
  15. MHTT Video Blog

And here is Day 2. I was planning on keeping it shorter lol how well that worked out... :P
  16. MHTT Video Blog

So as they say in poker it seems I am 'pot committed' and now it's time to go all in...with vlogs lol. So this was my first attempt at video blogging and there is plenty wrong with it. Being the worlds biggest critic of all things me I will get it all in hand as we go :D Whether the video or my...
  17. Interest in Video Blog?

Don't worry it's coming. The first day I covered most of everything so it's pretty long. After today i'll be aiming to stick to about 5-6 mins and focus on important areas.
  18. Interest in Video Blog?

Very well lol. I've done a lot of talking to camera and videoing today and I feel like it's going to be awful ;) hahaha Always pays to trip on the first step to gain some momentum :D
  19. My Version of Brett Clarke Serves

Nice work, its really the best area to work on more once your foundations are in place you can win so many easy points. Even now with my game in pieces I'm still heavily relying on my serves to keep me competitive in matches (not much else is working lol). Keep working on them and you'll be 2500...
  20. Interest in Video Blog?

So as some of you may know after competing at the world champs I got sick again (i have an autoimmune disorder). This time it took nearly 2 months to recover enough to start training again and I also had to withdraw from Oceania Champs. It has been a very testing couple of months and currently...
