  1. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

Fair points, Andy. And of course, I did exaggerate a bit to make my argument. To be honest, most people I've met in real life (and I suspect online) who struggle (and complain about) LPs/antispin are adults, not juniors. Some even wear it like a badge of honour. Uncoached juniors, like most...
  2. Why do people say LP's should be banned?

IMO, it is a somewhat disingenuous argument to use "asymmetric capability" as a justification for the frustration some people feel when playing against {L|M|S}Ps. What about playing left-handed players, penholders (and don't get me started on left-handed penholders :) ) or younger/more athletic...

  5. What is the best ESN Hybrid rubber for FH?

I was looking at Gewo's TT catalogue for 2023/2024 yesterday and could not help but notice that EF Pro's sponge is similar to K2/GT sponge. And at 40 euros it's a steal compared to all the other hybrids (except for K2/GT obviously :-)).
  6. What is the best ESN Hybrid rubber for FH?

Pretty much same here - K2 is the best for me. Playing with it since at least 2019. I've tried to switch to K3 a couple of times and each time went back to K2. Last time played with K3 from Nov 2023 till late Feb 2024. No complains about K3's durability (keeping under a sticky protective film...
  7. Returning heavy topspin serves - short and long kick serve

The main reason to do a heavy topspin serve to a double-sided looper (typically their backhand) is to force a rally from the outset and strongly counter-attack their relatively safe return of the serve. So, assuming you cannot loop kill the serve, you should try varying placement and/or playing...
  8. WRM TV visits Korea Highlights 2024

Yeah, he just uses it to return serves and get the ball in play - so no need for anything fast or hard on BH - and after that his inner Ryu Seung-min takes over :-)
  9. WRM TV visits Korea Highlights 2024

Yeah, very enjoyable to watch. They played some very strong Korean players. Amazing how well Gucchi plays without having a backhand attack. Great footwork and FH is very stable, but don't think I've ever seen him play a bh loop in any of his match-play videos.
  10. Tibhar Linfort Power/Spin

Apparently, Kenta Matsudaira is doing an equipment giveaway Any idea what these Linfort rubbers are? They are not on the ittf larc as far as I can tell. Perhaps, @Takkyu_wa_inochi knows?
  11. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Thank you! Unlike every other video/livestream from this tournament, WTT marked this one as "unavailable in your country" (UK in my case). Never mind, connected via VPN to a USA gateway.
  12. ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024

Is there a link to the live stream for that match (LIVE! | T8 | Day 2| ITTF World Team Table Tennis Championships Finals Busan 2024 | SGP vs SWE (F))? I cannot seem to find it on WTT's channel.
  13. Joola changed features on Vyzaryz Trinity blades

  14. dhs-729.eu LEGIT ?

Is that still the case? They had some website configuration issues that blocked visitors from UK but it should have been fixed by now. See https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/forum/topics/dhs-long-5-stock-availability.32569/#post-436424 .

  18. Eugene vs 2200 player

There is nothing surprising here. Eugene is a pro, Zakria is an amateur - what other result would you expect. P.S.: For those who like watching mere mortals getting slaughtered by infinitely better players (ex/current national team level, etc), my YT channel has a playlist "Amateur vs Pro" :-)
  19. How does Timo Boll win at his age?

The really impressive thing is that Timo beat Jang Woojin, Lee Sangsu, Lin Yun-Ju and Tomokazu Harimoto by refusing to give up the table and often hitting everything off the bounce quicker than these much younger players. European chicken wing loop for the win! :-)
