I swapped a bunch of rubbers around for some testing along with my new S968. Had a longer session against the robot, probably won't get to play against real people until this weekend. So far, it's pretty obvious that the S is indeed easier to hit into than the W. The most interesting result...
  2. WTT Champions Yokohama 2026, Yokohama, 8/4-9

Chen Yi makes the big comeback. Also I think she looks good with the short haircut!

Just glued up my S968 with my intended rubbers (H3N prov 40 BS 2.1mm and D09c 2.1mm). Working nights right now so won't get to try it out until Tues. First impression is that it's surprisingly not as head heavy as my W968 and Q968. They were head heavy so I shaved them down by 1-2mm, and my...
  4. Stiga rubbers different thickness from China?

Yeah it's kinda odd. I bought a sheet of DNA Platinum M and the only thickness available on AliE was 2.1mm. Maybe the Chinese users boost them more often.

Gonna use the H3 BS. Last time I boosted using Haifu black so at some point of time I want to try my usual yellow on the OS just to make sure it wasn't due to the booster change that I didn't like the OS. With the new blade I wanted to reduce variables when testing so will use the usual BS with...
  6. Amicus Prime Users

My understanding is that the Omega's app is a lot smoother. Amicus does have a new app now, appears to work a bit better overall, though it strangely doesn't scale well with tablets (at least android ones) so you literally can't hit some of the buttons unless you go into developer options and...

Well, not exactly outer, as the S968 is still inner. I only have experience with one Q968 so I don't know if it applies to all of them, but I found it difficult to really hit into the blade. The W968 which I used before that was already difficult to activate, but the Q was even harder. I did...

So yea, got impatient and just glued on a new sheet of D09c and an old sheet of H3P OS. I might have mentioned before but my feelings on the H3 OS went from "not that different from the BS" to "I really don't like it" over time. It just doesn't feel like it has the same dwell as the BS. I even...

I got my S968 today, sealed it, sanded it, and it's ready to go. I took out my 2nd H3N yesterday, the one I got at the same time as the bad sheet from a couple months ago. Unfortunately it is as I feared, it was a bad batch and this one is just as untacky as the last one. Luckily I ordered a...

Been using the Q968 for over a year now, slowly moving toward more outer carbon structure. Time to give the S968 a try. If that doesn't work out I'll probably either use the FZD ALC or the LJK ADC.
  11. SP Carbon (Seth Pech Carbon)

I got one. I've been meaning to try the Loki ALC (now called ARC, think ALC is a BTY trademark), but this lets me support an American TT player and creator. I think it's similar in price to the Loki ARC special anyway. I also already have a Loki LJK ADC special so nice to have one with another...

That's the nice thing about working with a coach, you get real time feedback. What we feel and what we actually do can be so different, so it's really nice to have that. I'm liking my new coach a lot, he really doesn't let anything go. We just keep working at one thing until I get it right. Our...
  13. Is the Pongbot Nova S Pro a god training partner for advanced play?

That's generally not the case. While the perceived spin often decreases with increased speed, the actual spin usually increases even for amateurs.
  14. Why do Butterfly now claim that Tenergy 05 is spinnier than 05fx?

It's probably related to the ball change. If you hit a baseball with a racket, just about any rubber will bottom out pretty easily. Heavier ball has more inertia, allowing you to hit into the rubber more before the ball bounces out. While the BTY ratings is just marketing, I think they do want...

Haha, I started playing with a similar story! I was in med school at the time and there was a table at our lounge. I was getting my butt kicked left and right, so I bought a premade racket off of Amazon and started playing at a local club. There was just this one old guy there the first time...

No, definitely not! It seems like an AI read my post and then dovetailed a promo segment to the end if my post. I'm concerned that @MaxBeckwith or TTD itself was hacked if these types of things are being added to posts.

Whoa that's weird how your quote of my post added a 4th paragraph. Does anyone else see it, in my post and his? I can only see the 3 paragraphs I wrote.

I took some time off to host my in-laws (both MIL/FIL as well as my SIL/husband/toddler) a couple weeks ago, and had to work a bit extra afterwards to make up the hours, so haven't had too much time to play. I've also been dealing with a nagging left hamstring injury, which I know will probably...
  19. Different Hurricane results based on boosting procedure

You said in your very first post, before anyone had replied that "Basically by removing the protective film before boosting you allow the topsheet to stretch a lot more with the sponge, which creates a lot more tension and also turns the sticky topsheet into a more grippy surface." You're making...
  20. Different Hurricane results based on boosting procedure

I'm still not sure what you're trying to say. Yes, professional rubbers are highly tensioned/stretched, but what does that have anything to do with tackiness or oxidation? It's the association between those things which you're drawing that I'm skeptical of.
