  1. Viscaria ALC vs Fan Zhendong ALC help me decide (Dignics 09C / 05 setup)

I think the older ones are just better made, which a lot of other people have complained about on Chinese socials and that's my experience thus far as well.
  2. Viscaria ALC vs Fan Zhendong ALC help me decide (Dignics 09C / 05 setup)

That's interesting. I have a X series FZD that plays really well, then 2 K series from 2025 that are totally bland, both ~1450 hz. One just feels stiff, though at least it feels reasonably powerful, the other feels like it's got no speed, flex, or power.
  3. Viscaria ALC vs Fan Zhendong ALC help me decide (Dignics 09C / 05 setup)

Do you happen to know the year of his FZD versus yours? I got really lucky with my first one. Bought it with rubbers covering it, so had no clue what it would've been like. Turned out it's got high frequency (1470s), a darker complexion (suggests older wood for the outer layer), and even fish...
  4. DHS Inner Carbon Blades Comparison: Sun Yingsha, Wang Chuqin, Long 5 & B2X

Just a minor correction, both the Chinese character 芳, and the English term "aromatic" refer to a specific cyclic organic chemistry structure which for example Kevlar contains. As such, the fibers are indeed aromatic, just not in the sense of smell.
  5. Viscaria ALC vs Fan Zhendong ALC help me decide (Dignics 09C / 05 setup)

I have 3 FZDs, 1 Viscaria, though I've got a lot of clubmates including my weekly training partner who also uses Vis. For me, the FZDs are consistently a bit harder feeling but is flexier, with a more pronounced woody feeling vibrations. The Vis are a bit softer feeling, quicker, and a bit...
  6. DHS Inner Carbon Blades Comparison: Sun Yingsha, Wang Chuqin, Long 5 & B2X

I have the W968, Q968, and S968, all 3 around 90 grams. I've played with the W968 for about a year, Q968 a bit less than a year, and S968 for a couple weeks now. My assessment of those 3 blades are a bit different, though I think some of it is just up to the individual blade. There's no doubt...
  7. DHS Inner Carbon Blades Comparison: Sun Yingsha, Wang Chuqin, Long 5 & B2X

Aramid/carbon weave in Chinese is "yellow aromatic carbon", and that's the one used in HL5 archetype blades.
  8. DHS Inner Carbon Blades Comparison: Sun Yingsha, Wang Chuqin, Long 5 & B2X

The Chinese term for ALC is "blue aromatic carbon).
  9. How do you guys perform a backhand topspin?

What's helped me is to take it even a step further. Don't even start with the BH drive, just start with the BH lob. I just try to lob the ball as low above the net as possible, make sure I can do that with good timing, kinetic chain, etc. first. Then I start adding some spin. Another thing...

Played in the local Chinatown tournament again. Barely made it out of the group this time but had some good fun. It was a tough group, a bunch of my clubmates were on a different team (my team was formed a couple years ago, before I became a regular at my current club), and they just happened...
  11. TTBL (Bundlesliga) 2026 - 2027

I think all the EJs would like to know, what's FZD's setup now?
  12. Liang Jingkun signs with LOKI

Just got my S-series LJK ADC, gonna try it out with a Rxton 9 national and a reboosted LAC. I'll be comparing it against the R-series LJK as well. The weight is pretty different though, think thr R-series was 92.x grams while this S-series measured at 88.7 grams.
  13. SP Carbon (Seth Pech Carbon)

@linduz was right, you can indeed get the S-series LJK ALC from Alibaba, just FYI.
  14. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Yes, not dropping the racket is super important in receiving long topspin serves. It's not that different from close to the table counterloops. Also, as it relates to counterloops, it's actually better to chicken wing it when close to the table. You usually just don't have the time to do a...
  15. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Idk, I've only had 1 player edition H3N BS but it came with a blade I purchased 2nd hand. It was oxidized to hell so can't say how it would've been had it been taken care of. Of note, the variations appear to only be on the blue sponge versions. Even when they're not garbage there was still...
  16. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

A few days, yea they're pretty bad. Hmm, I guess I tried it on OS neo vs non-neo before, haven't tried it on the BS versions. Also not sure if softness correlates with play since I didn't measure hardness at the time and just felt they don't play the same. Either way I'm not too concerned...
  17. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

Nah 2.15 feels too thick, and non-Neo doesn't boost well.
  18. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I did, but it doesn't even last a full session. I don't remember the dates. I actually have 2 sheets of provincial coming as well from AliE, one from Global Sports Store and one from Table Tennis World Store. I got a sheet of H3 OS from Global Sports Store in May and that was pretty good, I...
  19. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

I usually buy from prott, have had no issues until the recent 2 nationals. Occasionally I buy from AliE, also had no problems until the recent provincial sheet. I apply protector sheets religiously. The issue is that they sucked out of the gate. I have some used sheets in storage which are just...
  20. Daily Table Tennis Chit Chat

The issue with H3 is the topsheet QC. My last 3 sheets have been just hot garbage, 2 nationals and 1 provincial. The nationals were not playable from the start. They were matte appearing rather than glassy like normal H3s, not tacky, and not grippy either. Simply unusable. The provincial was a...
