  1. Post your latest EJ purchase

tired of: 1) shakehand grip - too boring :) 2) Viscaria not being flexible If I like this Stuor blade, probably will order DHS 301 (FL) and stick with these two blades. Man I re-watched so many Ma Lin matches that I really want to play penhold now. Magnificent style he had.

    My waiting list...
  3. DHS fans unite!

Bought used DHS Hurricane Hao 656, which turned out to be fake one. Eh, either way tested it for 2 days and it feels ok. 5 layers of wood, much control, has flex compared to Viscaria. FH: H3 40 comm BH: H8-80 37 2 thin layers of booster. Not enough for sure for FH rubber, need either 2 thicker...
  4. Share your Racket's Photo

It has no authentic signs: no blade number, no lens on the other side of the handle, no Wang Hao's picture on the bottom. Also, it says "hurricana" instead of "hurricane" on the print. Googled it, found that some fakes had this as well. Otherwise look legit. Sad, because I like the...
  5. Miracle of Long 5

Partly, confidence comes from equipment you use. Imagine, you've trained with this exact setup for a year without changing anything, you'll be so much more confident in your strokes, controlled shots, more loopkills, etc. And, like in anything in life - experience will give you more confidence...

DHS Hurricane Hao 656 (it turned out to be fake). Plays rather well.
  7. Miracle of Long 5

Now play 10 matches against different styles with F3 and then 10 matches with Long 5. That would be much more interesting to see. This game is probably just result of your 2 years of training, not Long 5 magic.
  8. H3 not so tacky?

Just found and ordered Hurricane Hao 656. Always wanted to try this kind of blade. Will put on H3 commercial 40deg (non NEO) for FH and H8-80 37deg on BH. Both boosted with 1 layer of seamoon.
  9. Hurricane 8, underrated, overlooked rubber?

Preferably, to attach a small video with at least 5-10 top spins on the BH and FH to see player's level. Or if it's a coach, then to see how their students are doing. Or... /sarcasm But for real, H8-80 is not a bad rubber at all, especially on stiffer blades like DHS Bo2 or BTY Viscaria. I have...
  10. Suggestions for video to inspire new, young players

This video from MALONG Fanmade Channel always inspires me. It's sad that this video's audio got screwed by YouTube
  11. all roads lead to Rome...

I hope that when I'm old I'm gonna be able to play like this 'old' man ('old' is a very relative term). I recall he beat somewhat strong opponent with a phone. Can't find this video and don't really know Chinese to properly search, unfortunately (I'm learning though!)
  12. all roads lead to Rome...

Listen up folks, I know you love EJing. I get it. But let's get real, whatever you do, whatever you try, if you stay in TT long enough you'll eventually use Hurricane 3 or Hurricane 8. It is inevitable. Resistance is futile... So just get Hurricane and a bottle of booster and save you all the...
  13. DHS fans unite!

To me the tackiness is fine, it's comparable to TG2. I have regular H3 though, not H3 NEO version and boost it myself with either Haifu or Falco Tempo Long. Works well until it bubbles, then I just mindlessly replace it with next sheet of H3.
  14. DHS fans unite!

Ma Long hasn't changed his equipment for around 10 years already. Before that there were a lot of changes due to glue being different, balls being different several times. Around 2013-2014 he started playing with DHS w968 and H3 both sides. 10 years without changing the equipment is a lot :)...
  15. Hurricane Neo 3 - Fake or Real?

Yup, commercial or provincial (the one that is sold worldwide) are fine for us mortals. Table Tennis Gan proves this in his review videos, where he plays with commercial rubber just fine and top spins are deadly. Just boost it with 1-2 layers and the H3 becomes another beast, even commercial one.
  16. Are Lebrun brothers just developing a permanent reputation for bad sportsmanship?

Opponents can be on whatever level of annoyance, this affects them much more than me. My inner piece and calmness are the priorities during competitions. There's an umpire to judge whether the serve was legal or not. Even if it clearly wasn't legal, does being emotional about it help anyway...
  17. Softer rubber or hurricane?

With this set of skills you can just try out Hurricane 3 and see whether you like it or not. It's experience that matters, not theory. May be you'll like it, may be not. Me personally, I know for sure that I make more mistakes with H3, but I can also execute some very cool and powerful shots of...
  18. Which brands are most popular in each country?

That's because YouTube does not equal real life...most youtubers do reviews on cheaper rubbers because they're searching for alternatives for Butterfly rubbers giving advice to us, (mostly) poor Russian folks. Most high level players use Tenergy/Dignics nowadays. Some very top sponsored pros...
  19. A question about boosting

Have you seen how professional players warm up before matches? With their power it's enough to 'break in' the rubber in a couple of hours training, and they surely do that before any competition. Ma Long for example uses H3 on both sides and to 'break in' the red side he sometimes twiddles the...
  20. Is it the right approach to try to return every backspin serve with a backhand flick?

I always thought that the best approach is to do whatever works against this particular opponent. And have fun playing, of course. Whatever makes you happy. Igor was right. Be happy.
