Yes it's back up... if it's still not working for you, clear your browser cache. Apologies to TTDaily admin for talking about another forum...
  2. OOAK down?

Yep, the server suffered some serious damage, they're trying to restore from backups, could be another day...:(
  3. Is Hurricane 3 different from H3 Neo without the tune layer?

I've seen hundreds of (commercial)Hurricane sheets over the years, and unfortunately the variation between sheets is huge. The biggest variation is sponge hardness... it varies from very soft to 'hard as a rock'. The neo versions suffer from this too, but the variations seem less. In general the...
  4. Rozena damage

I don't think there's anything you can do. Hopefully an umpire will consider it minor wear & tear, but technically it's probably no longer legal, so it needs to be replaced. I you do hit the ball near that spot, I expect the ball will come off quite different, probably a lot slower.
  5. Your best tips on table tennis equipment?

What are some of the best tips you've received (or given) about table tennis equipment? It can be anything, for example rubber/blade/accessories recommendation, gluing tips, cleaning tips, etc. What's your best tip?
  6. Bat, racket or paddle - what do you call it?

I'm referring to a complete bat here, blade + rubbers. I've always wondered where the different terminology comes from. Most people in my region (South Australia) call them bats, but I've come across racket or paddle too, especially on forums. What do you call them in your region?
  7. Jean Michel Saive vs Thomas Weikert - Who would you vote for?

Thanks for voting everyone! The views of the online community is pretty conclusive! If you're reading this and have not voted yet, please do so :D BTW I've asked Saive a few question which he said he was happy to answer (when he find time as he's a very busy man!), including his view on the...
  8. Cleaning rubbers

For non-tacky rubbers water is usually enough, but for Tacky rubber you'll need to use a cleaner more often if you want to keep it tacky. Foam cleaners work best for me for tacky rubbers (also plastic sheets are vital for this).
  9. New rubber from yasaka. Shining Dragon

Yes very expensive, especially considering it's made in China! Made in China is certainly not necessarily bad, but the cost to make it would no doubt be considerably less, which should be reflected in the retail price IMO.
  10. Jean Michel Saive vs Thomas Weikert - Who would you vote for?

As some of you would know already, in May 2017 there will be an election for ITTF president, and so far the 2 candidates are Jean-michel Saive and current (un-elected) president Thomas Weikert. If you had a vote (unfortunately individuals don't, only National Associations do), who would you...
  11. Tearing my hair out with OX rubber

Which glue did you use? You didn't actually say :o I always use the thinner glues, those that come in the little 25g bottle with the sponge on top, like Donic Formula, Xiom I-bond, etc. These are quite strong, and thin enough so that no lumps show through for OX rubbers. I use a couple of layers...
  12. Can an App improve your Table Tennis? Interview with Brett Clarke from ttEDGE

The new IOS version is available too now. You can now just observe and study the serves, in real time or slo-mo... a great way to learn.
  13. Can an App improve your Table Tennis? Interview with Brett Clarke from ttEDGE

It's a free download, and comes with some free modules (making it already worthwhile), but to get the full version with many additional modules (and future ones) you need to pay. I'd recommend you check it out for yourself... see if it's worthwhile for you.
  14. Can an App improve your Table Tennis? Interview with Brett Clarke from ttEDGE

For those of you that may not have seen it, the ttEDGE App is very impressive, and well worth checking out! I'm convinced it's actually helping my game, which is pretty imazing for an App. The ttEDGE crew keep adding impressive new modules as well. I've been so impressed with the App, that I...
  15. durability of donic bluefire jp01 turbo

Durability depends very much on you, and how sensitive you are to (slow) changes in the characteristics. I know people who get 2 years out of a Bluefire, others that change every 2 months or so. If you always need to high grip that the new rubbe comes with, you might have to change more often...
  16. Durability of 999 rubbers

The secret is to always keep it clean, and you MUST put the plastic protection sheet on. This will keep it tacky for years.
  17. Your tip/s for cutting rubbers neatly?

While I agree with you, I actually find it easier to cut with a knife. With scissors you need to be really careful not to lift the rubber on the edge while you're cutting, because with WBG (unlike VOC glue), you can't push it down again and make it stick. As long as you push down on the rubber...
  18. Sealing with Polyurethane sealent?

I've used a water-based polyurethane sealer before as well, but it was only available in larger tins, so this seemed a bit of a waste. It seemed to work fine as well, and of course no nasty fumes and easier to clean up.
  19. Your tip/s for cutting rubbers neatly?

I was referring to most of the posts that followed, including my own. :o
