  1. WTT Contender Almaty 2026 Sep 1-6

It gets worse. WTT Champions Macao starts on Tuesday, and there is no qual stage. I hope Macao tournament director is kind enough not to schedule Hina or Shunsuke on the 1st day... preferably on day 3.
  2. Ma Long @WTTC2026: Harimoto Tomokazu is the Best Non-CNT Player.

Hmmm... He has a 33-2 record this year including winning every single match at the 2026 WTTTC when his compatriots were struggling. Don't know how that's considered downhill.
  3. WTT Contender Almaty 2026 Sep 1-6

Miyuu Kihara goes from beating Hina Hayata in T-League a few days ago to losing in the 1st round against Swastika Ghosh in Almaty.
  4. 2027 WTT Series Calendar

January's WTT Champions Asia in January 19-24 has exact same days as the All Japan.
  5. TTBL (Bundlesliga) 2026 - 2027

Togami is on fire https://www.ttbl.de/news/post/6a92d4b0a18b970001ad6b6d The Leapmotor Cup Grand Opening at a glance Round of 16 TTF Liebherr Ochsenhausen – Borussia Düsseldorf 3:1 Shunsuke Togami – Anton Källberg 3:0 (11:8, 11:8, 11:6) Darius Movileanu – Fan Zhendong 1:3 (4:11, 13:11...
  6. WTT Feeder Olomouc-2026 (24 - 28 August 2026)

Congratulations to Rin Mende, champion of WS. She beat her WD partner, Misuzu Takeya, 3-0. The two took the WD title over Paranang/Suthasini for the 2nd tournament in a row.
  7. Thread about Japanese Players

A number of Japanese women are playing in ETTU Champions League: Yurika Namba. Emiko Taguchi, Miu Hirano, and Kotomi Omoda. Miu Hirano beat Emiko, but she lost to Yurika. Great effort by Kotomi but fell short. She had to win 3-0 for her team to win.
  8. WTT Feeder Olomouc-2026 (24 - 28 August 2026)

Both Rin Mende and Misuzu Takeya are into the WS SF. Rin Mende had a tough battle with Suthasini Sawettabut going to a decider in the QF. Misuzu Takeya took out 3rd seeded Amy Wang. The Japanese pair are also in the WD Finals tomorrow to take on Thailand again (same pairs as last week's WTT...
  9. WTT Contender Almaty 2026 Sep 1-6

https://www.worldtabletennis.com/eventInfo?eventId=3247 I don't know if Honoka is injured, but she was originally on the players list for WS and WD (with Nagasaki). She's been replaced by Sutirtha Mukherjee.
  10. Thread about Japanese Players

Kihara in good form in T-League. She just beat Hina to take the team victory. She should be a strong candidate for the Almaty title next week.
  11. Thread about Japanese Players

New rankings out today. Somehow it turned out that Kotomi Omoda is right at #100 and Rin Mende at #101.
  12. Thread about Japanese Players

Hina/Miwa are ranked #1 in women's doubles. Satsuki has two top 10 doubles pairings: #5 with Yokoi and #8 with Miwa. Hina and Satsuki are playing their cards right. If they don't get the LA2028 #2 spot, they both have exceptional doubles credentials.

FWIW, I seem to recall just before Tony left he mentioned that he was potentially becoming a coach for a pro player. His continued absence might simply be taking on this new challenge.
  14. Europe Smash 2026, Malmö, 8/8-16

Sora at times plays like he's one or two levels above his opponent, and I gotta admit it's fun to watch. But he was not able to sustain it. He ran out of gas in G6 after the offensive outburst to go up 7-0, and Tomo was able to produce his own outburst after taking the blows from Sora.
  15. A better forum via better moderation

A better suggestion would be for posters to self reflect before spewing hatred to the point that it needs to get removed.
  16. Europe Smash 2026, Malmö, 8/8-16

A good fight from Hina. She was already pressing at the end of SYB's match.
  17. Europe Smash 2026, Malmö, 8/8-16

Second WD Smash title this year for Miwa / Hina which pushes them to the top of the WD rankings.
  18. Europe Smash 2026, Malmö, 8/8-16

Peng Yu-Han is going to be trouble for a lot of players. The 18 year old took out Pavade, Hashimoto, and Nagasaki on her way to the QF and was no pushover for WMY. She'll be within the top 30 after last year's Euro Smash points expire on 8/24.
  19. Europe Smash 2026, Malmö, 8/8-16

Hashimoto I felt had done enough at that point and should have been on the national team. But the process for getting on the NT is a black box. Very different from the Olympic race where clearly you need to get your ranking up as high as possible. And Honoka is doing that. She's 4th highest...
  20. Europe Smash 2026, Malmö, 8/8-16

Hina and Satsuki got to where they are because of their own efforts. As I said, they're the ones winning the tournaments. Hashimoto and Sato have actually done a really good job of moving up the rankings. They both will have a good shot at future teams events as well as WTTC with the larger...
