  1. How many reglues before the TB ALC outer ply becomes softer?

True. I've seen the blades of some professionals that would not pass any blade inspection. It's just that all the umpire sees is the complete bat with rubbers.
  2. What did you learn in 2014?

After your Korean experience that must near complete misery.
  3. What did you learn in 2014?

I hear a number of people talking about using the flip shot or flip-drive more often. I guess it ties up with other posters recommending shorter strokes.
  4. Table restore....

You will have to be sneaky Sorry, but as you said, for your own progress, you have to buy a proper table. Maybe use the opportunity to get the kids into the sport by always playing with them on the table. As they get more interested, take them to the club or tournament a few times, they will...
  5. Looping Backspin balls

Very true The old "getting the timing right". It's one of those things that separate the good from the rest of us.
  6. What did you learn in 2014?

One of the things that keeps the interest in TT is that the sport is constantly changing in tactics and approach to strokes. We as amateurs are constantly learning new things and discarding others. This thread is about what you learned in 2014 that you now incorporate into your regular game. For...
  7. Looping Backspin balls

Very few players regularly attack long pushes or chops in matches If they do, then they are advanced players. It’s the most difficult stroke that us amateur players have to make. It’s also one of those strokes that can’t be self-taught. You have to use a coach or advanced practice partner at...

Ignore the trolls Great stuff, Jay.
  9. 729 rubbers

I'd forgotten all about 729 rubbers. Shows how much DHS has progressed in the minds of players to the expense of 729.
  10. Brighton City Table Tennis Club

Very nice video and shows how well the club is reaching out to all people in the community.
  11. Equipment configuration

I assume that you are a shakehand player. Try flipping the bat to see how the Tenergy plays on your FH.
  12. Amazing point at 1:48

I enjoyed watching that. Very good points and the players' infectious enthusiasm was fun to see.
  13. Best setup for learning defense.

I agree with Der_Echte. But add to that All+ blade someone's old Tenergy in 1.9 if you can find one. Don't worry if it doesn't quite fit. Tenergy's never really die if never boosted, so you'll still be good. This way you won't be wandering too far from your normal setup.
  14. Slow starter - most effective warm ups?

I forgot to add. If you can't get on a table, hit a ball on your bat. Practise spinning the ball and controlling it for a couple of minutes. It give you an immediate feel for spin action and helps to focus on the job at hand. In fact you should do this whether or not you get on the table.
  15. Did you know... ?

And a dentist too The most amazing fact is that he is also a qualified dentist. He must be very well organised.
  16. Amazing Around The Net Shot!

You are too kind. I have not done anything for over a year so maybe this is the year to start again.
  17. Amazing Around The Net Shot!

I had to rewind three times to see what you were referring to. And yes, we don't see those too often.
  18. Butterfly Zhang Jike Super ZLC Blade Review

Stop complaining and buy it. You will then have the satisfaction of knowing that your purchase helped to finance the fuel bill for ZJK's Maserati.
  19. Two Blades from OSP: Virtuoso Off- and V'King

Expert vs Virtuoso, what do you think? Funny, I was thinking about asking for your opinion of the Virtuoso. Maybe you felt the signals coming from me.
  20. Butterfly Zhang Jike Super ZLC Blade Review

Tom is a semi-pro player. Dan is a coach.
