Alarm off - just got an email from them - they're investigating.

They are great - ordered 5 or 6 times in the past from them myself - which is why the lack of confirmation emails this time is so surprising. I called the number from https://thorntonstabletennis.co.uk/contact/.

Has anyone here from UK ordered anything recently from http://thorntonstabletennis.co.uk/? My inner EJ won and I placed an order with them, got a paypal confirmation, but there has been no usual order confirmation email from thorntonstabletennis for several days now. My attempts to contact...

What's even more interesting is that Paul Drinkhall almost lost to Helshan Weerasinghe in the quarter-finals. Helshan was 3:1 up and 10:10 in the 5th, but could not clinch it - final score was 4:3 to Drinkhall (6-11, 9-11, 11-4, 1-11, 12-10, 11-6, 11-4).

Paul Drinkhall and Tin Tin Ho.

I really wish they continued the live streaming on Youtube. It was smooth glitch-free full HD after all, unlike FB video which only goes up to 720p and seemed to stall everyonce in a while. Also there was close to a 1000 people watching the live stream on YT, well more than the total actually...

Thanks guys. In retrospect, IMHO, there were two key things made this shot a possibility. One was stepping back immediately after the bungled serve, and the other was the very high ball bounce after my opponent's smash. Still remember seeing the ball almost stop at the top of the bounce ... :-)

Probably my luckiest shot ever ... ;)

Don't forget the video is from a training camp. The goal of the session was to demonstrate the different variants of the service, show how to achieve various spins, and how to add some deception. IMHO, he did it quite well.

A nice demonstration of jab service technique and variations by one of the top UK players and coach Craig Bryant:

To me "tacky" means "like DHS Hurricane", and by this definition Nitrix 4z is nothing like Hurricane. As to how different it is to Fortissimo, those days I had naively thought that the best blade was the fastest/most expensive one, and only tried Nitrix 4z/Fortissimo on the Killerspin Diamond...

Nitrix 4z is not a Chinese rubber. Had on my first killerspin setup 5 or 6 years ago. Couldn't really tell the difference between it and fortissimo.

I dunno. Watched the entire event on Sky. Weihao Yan looks really strong. Either Flemming or Pistej will have their work cut out for them in the final. Plus they won't have as much rest time before the final as WHY.

Exactly. Someone who's been playing for 6 years and winning enough prize money in tournaments to pay for coaching and new equipment will not be asking on any forum whether to go with Viscaria Old tag i series or HL5 national. I'd love to know where is this promised land the OP hails from. Full...

Just the username? Sebas is back, lol.

It's a shame this forum does not permit simple replies like 'No'.

Don't discount the effect on your unsuspecting iron-lung-less opponents. The definition of winning ugly. :D

I beat a top 150 UK veteran (over 40) this summer. Also somehow managed to win against a female player ranked ~30 in UK in a tournament in late Oct.

Duh, because they are *amateur* players.
