  1. Butterfly Grubba Carbon FL question

I´ve played with this years ago and it is one of the most versatile blades I´ve had. For me it worked with thicker inverted rubbers, my friend still uses it with long pips. As a controllable carbon blade it is what quite a few people are looking for and what is often missed on the market. I...
  2. Can Blade weight affect performance?

In general, weight and balance play an important role, corresponding to the preferences of the player. A lighter blade balanced extremely towards the head can feel heavier than a weil balanced heavy blade, and of course an 80 gr ALC will feel different to a 90 gr ALC. 3 grams however should not...
  3. Can't find info on tibhar blade

That might indeed help to exclude options (like thick balsa core) or tell a little more about the composition. 3+2 always makes me think "Primorac Carbon". Also, contacting TIBHAR directly might be an idea. If this is not an age-old blade or a sample only, current staff may know it.
  4. Can't find info on tibhar blade

I doubt this, because the Fibretec uses glass fiber and on the one in question it says carbon. Some items are manufactured for specific markets only, so maybe the owner could provide info as for where he bought it? And some items are samples only - I´ve had production ready samples with print...
  5. Cure Water rubber cleaner?

I use it once in a while and I do not notice any other effect other than that it cleans well. As for comparison to other cleaners, I don´t use any, normally just water. So what did I expect from Cure Water? To lift my BTY order to the amount that qualified it for free shipping. Next time it...
  6. Do TT pros use what they endorse?

One thing though, you need to know what you´re doing. If you tell a blade maker "build me a Viscaria, but with 0,25 mm thicker outer veneers", you should know the effect of such modification in advance. For most, finding a blade which grip fits your hand and which balance puts you at ease...
  7. Do TT pros use what they endorse?

Every product comes with a degree of variations. Therefore the selection by weight (Boll example) is not a big deal. Sponge hardness on commercial products also varies, and I am sure if they do a run of a dedicated Ma Long 41,5 hardness even some of that wouldn´t be 100% precise. But yes, you...
  8. Do TT pros use what they endorse?

Some of them ARE really good and also some are competitively priced. And of course there are numerous blades with players names, from premade to pro level. Obviously, Ovtcharov wouldn´t use one with a DOTEC handle, and from the excellent No 1 blades he would of course have used the one with the...
  9. Do TT pros use what they endorse?

I guess that was more of an idea that never materialized because it was considered unplayable by most, and 53 was enough. For any pro who wants 55 degrees I think they would put a harder sponge underneath a C53 topsheet because then it wouldn´t be a "rubber amateurs can´t get" so obviously...
  10. Do TT pros use what they endorse?

Yes, it is no longer a disadvantage to use the sponsor material.
  11. Do TT pros use what they endorse?

That wasn´t such a big secret ;-) It is surely the most common example of someone using a blade that is not produced by their sponsor - put a different handle on. The most prominent example of using none of his sponsor´s material was Ovtcharov. They couldn´t keep the tenergy rubbers under a...
  12. Do TT pros use what they endorse?

Limitless possibilities to select and customize blades. Veneers of different thicknesses or even different material, handles put on totally different blades altogether, or special made. A player´s individual blade might differ from the one sold with his name in detail, yet some just get sent a...
  13. Andro Synteliac

The newest addition to the line, the SYNTELIAC ZCI, is one that could raise a few eyebrows, particularly when compared to the Butterfly Apolonia or Franziska blades. Personally, I am not familiar with these so I asked someone who is (and will always come back to the Apolonia blade from sponsor...
  14. Upcoming andro NUZN rubbers

The current LARC sees the first appearance of the andro NUZN 50 and NUZN 55 rubbers. It should be safe to say the numbers correspond with the sponge hardnesses, rubbers available in red and black (for now?) Any info would be appreciated, although I do not think there are many test rubbers...
  15. Alc rachet can slow tecnique learning?

The one with the allround JOOLA? Good point, but it seems what´s done is done ;-)
  16. Alc rachet can slow tecnique learning?

d09c and d05 is a combination aimed at and used by professionals and other advanced players. For the learning stage, try Rozena or even Glayzer if you want an "all Butterfly" racket. With that, there´d still be no need to go all wood, but Primorac is of course a very good racket as a basis for...
  17. Alc rachet can slow tecnique learning?

The jury is out on that. Surely mushy soft rubbers with a lot of catapult are not the best option either, but too hard is too hard and if you feel too "forced" by the rubbers it can also be a problem. In your case, if you want to "come back" to the ALC just keep it (you´re already used to its...
  18. Has anyone tried Xiom Omega VII Tour i?

What I meant is that if XIOM players want to switch to a Hybrid rubber with a sticky surface they would have to choose J&H Z. If they don´t see the necessity for Hybrid there´s of course no need to change anything at all.
  19. Has anyone tried Xiom Omega VII Tour i?

I agree. XIOM advertise Z52,5 as having a sticky surface. Tour i hasn´t. As for being an improved version, I guess the verdict is no. But maybe some XIOM top players will still switch to J&H, following the trend of using hybrid rubbers (d09c, K3, ...) at least on forehand.
  20. Fake Super ZLC??

I don´t think anyone will claim experience on a broad, general basis. There are differences between the originals and differences between the copies, so you might find one Stuor that plays almost exactly like the one Butterfly you have for comparison, but you could also have one Stuor that is...
