  1. Phantom Attack/M-Star rubber?

For any serious event - official tournament or professional league - the number would be checked to correspond with the LARC. On amateur level, I guess these rubbers might pass, but it depends on the umpire. In Germany´s fifth league I´ve seen umpires just looking casually, others with LARC...
  2. Phantom Attack/M-Star rubber?

I think anyone who reads This product is not approved at ITTF wouldn´t spend 31 USD?
  3. Other rubber manufacturers ?

I think I would have heard of them, if there were any.
  4. Andro Synteliac

Well done :-) It´ll be interesting how that plays - Gauzy has used it recently, coming from the pretty hard Gauzy SL all wood. I am a little behind my schedule testing the VCO, but will post some impressions soon.
  5. What is the best alternative for Tenergy 05?

Surely not the worst perspective. For me, it is very simple. Almost nothing FEELS like t05, if you put one on your racket it is instantly recognizable. In terms of spin, others are superior (new ESN high end) or have always been (Hurricane). After all these years, many players know exactly how...
  6. Liang Jingkun suspended

I just thought with the right amount of booster the Chinese rubbers weren´t so dead after all ;-)
  7. Blade XIOM HUGO CALDERANO HAL IS AMAZING :-)

As per Hugo´s preference, the blade retains almost an all wood feeling, for lack of better description. It isn´t the fastest blade around, but in my opinion one of those with the best touch. It also pairs well with hard to medium-soft rubbers, I tried Rasanter R53 to R45 over time, with Omega 7...
  8. What rubbers are faster than Evolution MXP?

From my experience, MX-P 50 is significantly more difficult to activate. The sponge is of course harder but it also has a different structure (smaller pores). If you don´t feel any need to change because you´re missing something, stick to what you know and love.
  9. Liang Jingkun suspended

From my point of view, all the HYBRID rubbers are built to emulate Chinese rubbers - a grippy/sticky surface on a lively sponge as opposed to a dead sponge brought alive by lots of tuning. So in which way would the Hybrids outperform the massively blown up Hurricanes?
  10. andro Cross Step

I am still using the pair mentioned in #1, alternating with a second (white) pair and I don´t notice any loss of grip or deterioration of quality. Admittedly, I don´t play as much as I used to, but even with one or two hours weekly (per shoe) I think that is impressive. I like the design of the...
  11. Andro Synteliac

Pretty good looking 83 gram VCO delivered today. In Germany all FL models are available now with ST versions expected in around 3 weeks. andro´s head company/distributor (schoeler-micke.de) will deliver overseas, but because of the shipping costs you might want to wait for local availability.
  12. Is Tenergy 05 spin-sensitive?

I agree, since a rubber that can produce heavy spin will also be equally sensitive to incoming spin. If the catapult is low, such rubbers may still feel easier when receiving serves and playing over the table than a bouncy rubber, but basically it´s like angle of incidence equals angle of...
  13. Tenergy 05 but less bouncy

In that case the brand seems to matter more than the origin of the product itself (most recent ranking 6 out of 10 German, only 4 "home-made"). ;-) I would still have expected at least some of the newest products to pop up, if only in the month of their release (Evolution MX-D is reportedly...
  14. Tenergy 05 but less bouncy

Not disagreeing, just questioning. You can´t argue with the fact that G1 is on the top of those world-tt lists month for month, sometimes 2nd to Rozena. But is a list compiled by a magazine from surveys at a selected number of retailers really representative or anywhere near an official...
  15. Tenergy 05 but less bouncy

Is it really? I know these world-tt charts which are compiled by a survey among some retailers, but there you´ll hardly find anything from a European brand - it´s all Nittaku, Yasaka, Butterfly and Victas, also XIOM and the odd Chinese product. andro are quite popular in Japan, but I have...
  16. Possible new Butterfly rubber?

I think this would make sense, since the top product line is already well established and Butterfly are not really known to rush things. One "normal", and one to take the 09c concept to the masses, where there surely is demand for a Hybrid rubber below 50 degree sponge hardness, something DONIC...
  17. World Teams: Team Sticky Inner Limba vs Team ESN Outer Koto

On low level, that may even work - some people are so allergic to long pips that if you are able to play a half-decent game with them, you might win ;) On pro level, Samsonov sometimes changed between blades according to venue size and conditions, just like Timo Boll once said he plays...
  18. World Teams: Team Sticky Inner Limba vs Team ESN Outer Koto

Hugo is definitely a great ambassador, but not for Butterfly ;-)
  19. Andro Synteliac

Correct, new JOOLA models (not sure if ALL of them) are made in the same factory as some XIOM top products, the overlooked KOKUTAKU ARC series and now the SYNTELIAC blades. Besides the design, which I also like, this origin is the reason why I expect very high manufacturing standards to rival...
  20. Fair Play in table tennis

I agree. I was only trying to explain. That is why I said umpires might be under supervision from the authorities. For example, in the last few months due to C-19 there´s the phrase "Don´t touch the table", and while as an umpire you might think this is unnecessary there might be someone in the...
