  1. Viscaria Super ALC release!

For those who care, BTY Germany announced limited quantities in their first shipment, and FL handle is already sold out from the pre-orders.
  2. Joola Dynaryz ZGR review

I have not tried it. Someone gave me a sheet (used for 15 minutes) to sell and no-one seems interested, so I may end up buying it from him myself. But the specs (57,5 degree sponge...) have put me off until now.
  3. Joola Dynaryz ZGR review

If you say the setup with Rhyzer 50 is "great" you´d probably be well advised to stick with it. The closest companion would be Dynaryz AGR in terms of hardness I think. I have not tried CMD + ZGR (not a big fan of "hybrid"), ACC would be too soft and Rhyzen seems more an entry level series. The...
  4. SOFTER rubber vs. THINNER rubber for BH?

For the general discussion, this is not the perfect example. R42 and R45 not only differ in hardness, but R45 has a significantly different sponge (ENERGY CELL). So your question would probably be between R45 and R48 (both Energy Cell), and yet even between these two some fine details are...
  5. 729 Made in Germany Rubber

I haven´t played either Stolz or Rayhe. Stolz is described as soft-ish (40 to 42 European hardness) and easy to play, while Rayhe is a nominal 45 (but apparantly feels harder).
  6. 729 Made in Germany Rubber

Made in Germany = ESN. "We" only have this one factory. As for DERWIND rubbers, Rayhe and Stolz can be bought for 19,90 at one German shop, and they have a new one called Stellar which is a faster version of Rayhe, that goes for 32,90.
  7. Can somebody explain the history of ESN?

If you´re a fan of typical Chinese rubbers of course you wouldn´t find these inferior. It´s just that ESN catered better to the needs of most players after the speed ban glue and has established a pretty much unrivaled position, while Japanese manufacturers didn´t have much to offer in that...
  8. Can somebody explain the history of ESN?

That is correct. DOctor Georg NICklas.
  9. Can somebody explain the history of ESN?

I´m not even sure that except for Butterfly brands ever made their own rubbers. There are two or three factories in Japan that still manufacture for a few brands, and of course all the Chinese stuff. The overwhelming success is based on Tensor technology, when after the speed glue ban all other...
  10. Advice for new rubbers

Could be, and could be one reason for the muscular problems that made him change the blade in the first place ;) But the switch to the Primorac Carbon seems to become more permanent than expected. Shortly after the switch Boll still proclaimed a timely return to the ALC, because it offers more...
  11. Advice for new rubbers

He said VEGA X. But even for those what you said seems right, especially the part about the old rubbers. A new pair of VEGA X should feel like a brand new, super powerful rubber, so my advice would be to go for that and then maybe think again after a couple of months.
  12. list of best table tennis rubbers

Which is why such list is even more useless. There may be an underlying assumption that a "backhand" rubber should be softer than a "forehand" rubber, yet not too soft, hence the absence of some that would come to mind, etc. So any list like that can be a personal statement, yet never a basis...
  13. Glue with brush

I also am not at all convinced of the idea with the sponge on top of the glue "stick". My recommendation was for the can of the same glue that really has a brush attached to its top: https://www.tt-shop.net/product_info.php?products_id=1141&osCsid=a90daead4012d7447b810261c8e585a6 The glue...
  14. Glue with brush

    You could try Tibhar CLUE.
  15. is baby oil a effective booster?

The approval is for the topsheet only. However some people argue it is not, since ITTF requires to send in samples with sponge in max thickness. But, the way I see it, if the whole package was approved then you couldn´t ever combine another sponge (different hardness) or version of same sponge...
  16. New Color of Good Rubbers

You are completely right. Using such rubber of course is not allowed. Since on most levels this will not be checked, at least you can see it and the damage is smaller. You mentioned t05 and t05 fx, I said R53 and R48, and the question would be valid for those and many others. But like I said...
  17. New Color of Good Rubbers

You mean as in "if the rubber is the same, there is no disadvantage to the opponent if the colour is also the same?" You could go even further, if I play with R53 on one side and R48 on the other, what would be the problem if they were both red. So far, so good. But actually, the problem only...
  18. Is Mark V bouncy?

Same here. I guess there was Butterfly SOFT D-13 before SRIVER, and I hear about Stiga (Yasaka?) Cobra rubbers fixed to those old and legendary STIGA blades. But other than that ... I guess that is something people often forget when talking about the "classic" rubbers (also Coppa, Speedy Spin...
  19. Boll Allround Wood + Sriver combo opinion needed

This might be so, although I would recommend something more modern like Rozena, too. Between those, Roundell is a good and cheap option. With all that has happened in terms of general technique over the years, changed by speed-glueing, bigger balls and now new ball material, I sometimes cringe...
  20. New Color of Good Rubbers

No, it was because people with anti-spin rubbers or long pips used them in the same colour as their other rubber. The chance to see what was coming at you was unfairly restricted, especially in combination with foot-stomping, so you couldn´t even hear which side of the racket was used. The...
