  1. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

I don't know if I have any friends here, but if you're referring to M51, I can tell you for sure that we don't know that nice guy.
  2. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

You’ve probably never experienced (or watched) any of La Villette Charleroi’s European home matches live in the 1990s, have you?
  3. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

It’s true, he wasn’t always ready. On one occasion, the umpire intervened because he raised his hand. On several other occasions, he was too slow to get into position and Felix had already started his serve. That’s how he missed several serves. Incidentally, Felix and his brother Alexis always...
  4. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

Anton lost several points because he clearly wasn’t ready to return Felix’s serve. Felix was well aware of that.
  5. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

Anton needs to learn to slow down Felix’s serve. Felix needs to learn that Anton isn’t ready for his serve quite as quickly as he used to be.
  6. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

A Russian woman winning a European championship. Everyone put down their weapons now!
  7. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

I’m not so sure about that. Annett’s on a roll at the moment.
  8. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

No, that’s right, of course.(y) Pavade’s contra-BH-move is still something special. Her movement is (due to her unorthodox grip) a bit unusual, but it is certainly effective.
  9. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

I’d noticed that too. Haugh plays faster, harder and has better reflexes than Truls, but his biggest asset is that he’s (of course) left-handed. 💪
  10. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

Lebrun A. doesn’t seem too happy with Lutz’s standard...
  11. 2026 European Individual Championships Ljubljana 11 October - 18 October

    Moregard 0–3 down against Haug!
  12. Sabine Winter switches to antispin

Because Pavade is left-handed, after all! 😀

  14. China Smash 2026, Beijing, 10/1-11

It wasn’t just that point. In the first set, he’d already forced Truls to smash his rubber by placing an excellent push-drop shot. What Truls does with his block shots is pretty much useless against a left-hander of LYJ’s calibre. But statisticians really ought to update their data as a matter...
  15. China Smash 2026, Beijing, 10/1-11

I think it was LYJ’s best match in the last two years.
  16. China Smash 2026, Beijing, 10/1-11

If he doe that, they have to start with a separate competition, only for pip-players! 😬
  17. China Smash 2026, Beijing, 10/1-11

    All power to the lefty’s!💪🦾😀😍
  18. China Smash 2026, Beijing, 10/1-11

It’s true, I think it’s admirable and quite unique that so much talent is beginning to emerge in Romania all at once. Given their history, I would have expected that to happen in Hungary. The question then remains: why is that? Did Bernadette set the whole thing in motion?😀
  19. The elements of a perfect forehand attack

That’s right, I agree. I still swing the way I learnt to 50 years ago: starting low behind the knee or calf and finishing high. Nowadays, they take the topspin much higher and their arm movement is easily a quarter shorter, which means there’s more ‘free’ time.
  20. China Smash 2026, Beijing, 10/1-11

Of course, that’s always the player’s fault, but also that of the referees who fail to take responsibility. You can see with the naked eye that Edward Ly’s throw is at an angle of more than 30°, and is being thrown towards his body or head. Well…🤷‍♂️
