  1. Dimitrij Ovtcharov Hits 122kph Ball!

I can think of so many variables that make the comparison weak. But the best measurements usually come out at about 65-70mph as the very highest. So Dimitri's shot shot is about right for a pro. Of course in a match players very rarely approach that speed as they are mostly driving and looping...
  2. Zhang Jike Blades vs Timo Boll Blades

They are probably preparing the ground for when Timo retires.
  3. Sharing China Table Tennis World Magazine !!!

I like the Butterfly advt for the ZJK blades. The ZJK symbol is now a logo in its own right.
  4. Request for the most incredible shots of all time

That's as good as it can get:) This shot is probably up there with the fastest ever recorded for the 40mm ball. Think about it. Big strong guy running in with big hit with all his weight behind it.
  5. Request for the most incredible shots of all time

That 3:58 sidespin is a very nice shot. But to me, the follow-up backhand sidespinny-choppy that finished the rally was more impressive. Tiago didn't know what was on the ball or what to do with it even though he was in position and had the time for his stroke.
  6. The Late-Developers of Table Tennis (Do they exist?)

I'm not 100% on this but if the youngster is very sporty, especially if he played lots of football, picking up TT at 11-12yo he will catch up those other players in about 3-4yrs, all things being equal. Des did it in about 2 years.
  7. The Late-Developers of Table Tennis (Do they exist?)

Yes. I was hoping that you would talk about how much training you actually need as kid. Pitch was highly ranked but training was few in hours even compared to his European competition. Plus he was up against players that generally trained even less than he did.
  8. The Late-Developers of Table Tennis (Do they exist?)

I think Primorac started at about 12 and Des at 14. But lots of players played at an early age but did not get serious until their teens. From Dan's interview with Liam Pitchford, he only got serious at about 13/14yo as far as I remember.
  9. Do you often blame on yourself?

We all blame ourselves as it is mostly our own fault that we miss.:)
  10. New Ball for 2014 Confirmed (ITTF Study)

I agree with you but no way will the 38mm make a comeback. They have probably destroyed the molds. The coming of the plastic ball is a done deal. The money generated by every serious player experimenting with new bats and rubbers is too much and has overcome any resistance from any influential...
  11. cheap reliable rubber's

As you live in the UK, please consider these 3: http://www.teessport.com/ http://shop.bribartt.co.uk/ http://www.topspintt.com/ The TT stuff may cost slightly more but they do sponsor UK tournaments, leagues and many local players. Plus they pay UK taxes and import duties:)
  12. New Blade and Rubbers (w/ pics)

So that's why you have such a spinny backhand. It's from all those formative years of having to spin up the ball with the Tackifire rather big hits as with Sriver/Bryce et al.
  13. Waldner's greatest block ever?

Terrific blocking by Waldner all through that match.
  14. The best smash ever

    Fly swatting at its best.
  15. The best smash ever

;)The best ever? But I'm sure we have all done one of these.
  16. The Top 10 All Chinese Possible?

@LethalForehand: Style? or the fact that their system is far more comprehensive. Oh, and the fact that they have hundreds of millions of players to choose from in one of the most harsh sporting systems. And the fact that that the government sponsors their players and coaches for millions of...

Tim, were you using pimples on BH or have you abandoned them now that you're coaching?
  18. Table Tennis Grip

The X and H drill is one of the best ways to train your grip.
  19. DHS Gold Arc 3 Rubbers Comp - Winners

Silly me. I thought the photo said that Daniel won. I was going to shout, fix!!
  20. What type of blade for Rasant Turbo?

Simply use the favourite blade that you own. That way, you will know whether or not the rubber suits you. By changing blade and rubber, you will be guessing that both will be right for you.
