  1. TSP Super Ventus and Ventus Spin - Anyone played with it?

There was speculation about it belonging to an older technology so TSP was able to sell it 10 Euro cheaper than any of the ones you mentioned. I never saw any Ventus in series action (semi-pro or higher league amateur), while bluefire and Evolution were all over the place, and the only TSP...
  2. TSP Super Ventus and Ventus Spin - Anyone played with it?

It is significantly different, because due to the characteristics of the Energy Cell Sponge also used on R53 - and yet pretty much exclusive to andro - R48 feels softer. The topsheet is thinner but grippier. Overall, R48 gives much better performance while also feeling better.
  3. Butterfly Viscaria with Stiga handle??? Interesting join-venture!

Also an interesting concept ;) - Take one Viscaria (165 USD) and one Infinity (95), do a bit of woodwork and sell for 365. That´s 105 USD gained (and I am sure someone will actually buy this) AND you still have an Infinity Blade to put the Viscaria handle on and sell that for 275 ;)
  4. Butterfly Viscaria with Stiga handle??? Interesting join-venture!

In general: None. On a personal level you might just feel so good with a certain handle (but not the blade that it´s from) that you stick it on any blade you ever play with. But really it is used to disguise that a player under contract with A actually plays with a blade manufactured by B.
  5. TSP Super Ventus and Ventus Spin - Anyone played with it?

No. Probably a few classics or alternatives for Sriver and Tackiness.
  6. TSP Super Ventus and Ventus Spin - Anyone played with it?

The quote from tabletennisnerd has it pretty much nailed. (Although I would be wary of calling ESN rubbers and tenergy "from the same generation", because the whole concept is so different, but from around the same time is true). ESN presents recipes to brands, for them to choose what variation...
  7. TSP Super Ventus and Ventus Spin - Anyone played with it?

All Ventus rubbers as well as all other TSP rubbers are going out of production. Some will re-appear under the Victas brand, some will not. There´s a list in circulation somewhere (if I remember correctly Facebook) which rubber will be which, and which will just fade away quietly.
  8. New Equipment 2021

But can they use it? Ot just have it? For example the top product from andro is R53, which is well above most serious amateur levels. Too hard, too difficult to activate. I really like the ads with Gauzy showing R53 "made for me" and R48 "made for you". Most players are perfectly served with...
  9. Donic Baracuda / Tibhar Genius alternative with less catapult

Do you feel there is a anything wrong with this "old" generation? What would you expect? Manufacturers and sellers have surely created a kind of expectation among the players. Since there is so much new stuff every year, surely you can´t afford to miss out? But you can. Just imagine how many...
  10. Dimitrij Ovtcharov trying new blade against fan?

Any brand with legendary players under contract will probably do the same, see all the BTY Boll and Tibhar Samsonov blades. But legendary as they are, some have last played actively ages ago and it would be useful to start deleting several items from the catalogue. I am very sure that Waldner...
  11. Dimitrij Ovtcharov trying new blade against fan?

Some do. Mostly from generations of yore. Yes. He is especially "active" in trying to optimize every last bit of his equipment, but he is not alone.
  12. Dimitrij Ovtcharov trying new blade against fan?

before tenergy he did, but that is so long ago it probably doesn´t count The last one - basically a DHS clone - was the only one they could really "convince" him to use. Before that, the joke of all the Original and True blades coming out that he "really played", "really, really played" and...
  13. Dimitrij Ovtcharov trying new blade against fan?

Unlikely... After playing anything BUT Donic when sponsored by them he would not start doing the same when finally with his sponsor of choice, Butterfly.
  14. Bernadette Szocs playing with the NEW PINK RUBBER!

Should be way longer? I guess it should´ve gone out of production in the mid-Eighties when the red/black only rule was introduced. Back in the day I played half a season with it, didn´t seem to be less longer lasting than Sriver and the likes.
  15. Spinniest but fastest all-wood blade that you've tried.

All other rightfully mentioned aspects aside, purely in the sense of the question asked: Gauzy SL.
  16. Testing Vladimir Samsonov's Table Tennis Bat!

No. Just simply the same. ;)
  17. Testing Vladimir Samsonov's Table Tennis Bat!

This is true. When pressed for the difference, an insider mumbled "glueing technique" is "marginally different", resulting in slightly different values for speed and such. Yeah, right. If you play both with identical weight there is no noticeable difference. However Vladi did not seem to mind...
  18. A new blade for Dimitri Ovtcharov?

It seems. And very probably not a FLARED handle like the one shown in Dan´s video, that would be a first.
  19. A new blade for Dimitri Ovtcharov?

Wouldn´t that be something, when after years of playing all sorts of different blades with a Donic handle he´d take the one that he "actually, finally, really, now we don´t mean really like we meant when we said really before, we mean really really" plays to Butterfly to start the same shit all...
  20. Yasaka Falck Carbon and W7 Blades Review

My mistake. With all the Donic blades that Ovtcharov played, then really played, then really really played and finally really, guaranteed, played I should´ve put it straight that I meant "No. 1" ;)
