I've played Calibra tour s, tenergy 05, 05fx, 80 and rozena. I've had enough japanese rubbers to know I want a break from them.

There's nothing that will magically get you better blocking or control. Your setup is already control focused. What you need is experience. Training is the only answer here.

True, Mars is a wardog too, it lasts a long long time. If ease of use and durability are of greater importance, I can see the Mars pulling ahead. I find it excellent for blocking and chopping.

The marketing behind the rubber is good. I've used it for 3 years in a training racket. Durable, but little feel, slow speed, very little spin, very good for block. Mercury is a rubber that will hold better in the long run, it has higher potential.

That's with all tacky rubbers, when you play it gathers humidity and rubber doesn't feel tacky to the touch. Let it sit for a bit and tackiness returns, it's that simple.

I have mars and it's not that good of a rubber, it doesn't really have loud feel. I think the mercury 2 is incredible for the price though.
