  1. 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, 9/19-10/4

Harimoto played game 6 quite well, and then quite lost his focus at the beginning of game 7. CNT coaches always say "biting" the score, which means not open a big whole in score in a game. Once Alamiyan got 3 points ahead and got chances to serve at the end, Harimoto was done.

Suddenly, LSD became a hero and was in a level to beat anyone. Is he?
  3. 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, 9/19-10/4

Preparation is also important. I think Harimoto and his team probably did not prepare well before the match. It won't be an easy match for Noshad next one against WCQ. We will see. Without illegal serves, Noshad's game is actually fun to watch,
  4. 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, 9/19-10/4

Anyway, Noshad's last two long reverse serves to Harimoto's wide forehand is pretty smart and good choice. That was Harimoto's weak spot and it almost guaranteed a return to Noshad's backhand.
  5. 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, 9/19-10/4

I think Noshad dared that the umpire did not dare to fault him all the time without TTR. Sometimes a serve is in a player's blood and he just can not get it out.
  6. 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, 9/19-10/4

Harimoto's interview about the illegal serves, although it is in chinese.
  7. 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, 9/19-10/4

I was wondering why Harimoto played that often to Noshad's backhand too. Playing against a player like Noshad, serving and playing 90% to his forehand is not a bad choice. Harimoto was probably too easy changing to another worse strategy when he lost one point with the optimal strategy.
  8. Miwa's footwork for receive

One reason is also maybe to keep a little forward momentum when moving back to the table. Most professionals bounce without moving, or just move a little step sideway (more prepared for forehand short?). CNT players like FB usually move one small step with the right foot, but Miwa seems to move...
  9. Miwa's footwork for receive

Has anyone observed that Miwa Harimoto's footwork for receive is very unique? She stays close to the table, moves one small step away from the table when her opponent serves, and then usually move back for short receive. Maybe it is a personal habit, but it is quite different from almost...

If it is high, it is probably slow. So your timing may be off. I think the key is to get the timing right, not about the power or anything first.

But they have not starved and died, and are probably too fat, right? :)

Backswing is the soul of table tennis strikes. But don't backswing just for backswing. Backswing is for you to hit the ball with your body while you can still adjust and get power. In my opinion, you did not need to backswing that low and that much for now. Focus on backswing with your leg/hip...

Look at picture 1. Your paddle almost hit the floor in the backswing, and you contacted the ball about the net height. How much distance do you need to swing to contact the ball? This kind of swing was only for people feeding slow (maybe backspin) ball to you for a power loop, but for amateurs...

Well, hard to see from these pictures, but I think you strokes were well too huge and used too much power (arm/hand). I think you might benefit from a 1/3 compact strike and maybe 40% power. I know ML's strikes look amazing, but it takes years of practice and modification to get there. Get...

I think that there are several reasons that most amateurs can not improve. 1. knowledge, most amateurs do not know why and how to properly execute a shot; If you do not have a good coach, you would have to watch a lot of videos and try out for yourself, which most amateurs can't do. 2, change...

@Tyce gave some comments on your video. I agreed with most of them. From what I saw is that you probably would like to practice driving with your body first. You won't really have good power and consistency by the way of snapping your forearm to contact the ball. To really get better, spend a...

Japanese coach doesn’t have much freedom to choose whom to play for the team, I guess.
  18. 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, 9/19-10/4

Asking fzd to come back is like trying to fix a broken mirror. And fzd is no god. He is vulnerable himself at the moment and will not get much stronger with time.
